What is Churma Ladoo?
Churma wahi wala is a popular Haryanvi, Rajasthani, Bihari, Uttar Pradesi, and Awadhi delicacy from India. In Punjab, the dish is called churi. It is coarsely ground wheat crushed and cooked with ghee and sugar.
Ladoo Made with churma are called churma Ladoo, and this ladoo is very tasty and also very good for our Health.
These laddu are made with wheat flour churma and melted Jaggery. In Haryana, churma is made by mashing up roti in ghee and Jaggery. It is not served with ghee, especially as a diet for the wrestlers sparring in the danggal of akharas. In Rajasthan, churma is made in lots of variations. It is made by either mashing up roti made of either bajra (see pearl millet) or ‘gehu’ (see wheat) with Desi ghee and sugar ( shakkar / khand / bura / kasar ) or jaggery pieces.

Ingredients of Churma Ladoo Modak Recipe

Churma Ladoo Modak Recipe | How to make Wheat Flour Modak | Churma Laddu Recipe
Materials
- 2 cup Wheat Flour
- 2 tbsp Semolina
- 3 tbsp Ghee
- Chopped Dry fruits
- 2 tbsp Dessicated Coconut Powder
- 1 tbsp Poppy seeds
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
- Jaifal / Nutmeg
Instructions
- To make Perfect Churma Ladoo Modak, first take a bowl and add 2 cups of wheat flour.
- Now add 2 tbsp of fine semolina and 3 tbsp of melted ghee, and mix everything well with your hands until it gets bread crumb texture.
- Now, little by little, add warm water, knead well, and prepare a stiff dough.
- Now coat the dough with ghee and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, check the dough and take a portion of the dough.
- Now prepare oblong shaped balls.
- Now press hard with your hand and make Muthia shape from dough.
- Now, one by one, prepare Muthia with the remaining dough.
- Now, place a pan on flame and add oil for deep fry and heat on medium flame.
- When oil is medium hot, add Muthia in batches and fry well on low, medium flame.
- After all Muthia turn golden, transfer them to a place and fry the next batch.
- Now, let all Muthia cooled completely.
- After all, Muthia has cooled down, break them into small pieces.
- Now, transfer all pieces into a grinding jar, grind well, and make a Danedar powder.
- Now transfer Churma Powder to a bowl.
- Now add chopped dry fruits, raisins, 2 tbsp of desiccated coconut, 1 tbsp of poppy seeds, 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder, grated nutmeg and mix everything well.
- Now, place a pan on flame and add 1 tbsp of butter and melt well.
- After butter melts, add 1 cup of jaggery and melt well on medium flame.
- After jaggery melts completely, turn off the flame and transfer it to Churma Ladoo mix.
- Now mix everything well.
- Once it’s a little bit cool, start making laddu or Modak with it.
- Now to make Modak laddu mould and grease it with ghee.
- Now prepare laddu Modak with mould, transfer it to a plate, and garnish them with poppy seeds.
- Now, one by one, prepare all Churma Ladoo.
- Now your Churma Ladoo is completely ready.
