Ingredients of Gram Four Modak Recipe 

  • Ghee – 4 tbsp
  • Besan/Gram Flour – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 3/4 cup
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Cardamom Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Saffron strands – 1 pinch
  • Milk Powder – 1/2 cup

For Stuffing 

  • Cashew Nuts
  • Almonds
  • Pista
  • Dessicated Coconut Powder – 4 tsp
  • Peanut Butter – 1 tbsp

Materials

  • 4 tbsp Ghee 
  • 1 cup Besan/Gram Flour
  • 3/4 cup Sugar 
  • 1 cup Milk 
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder 
  • 1 pinch Saffron strands 
  • 1/2 cup Milk Powder 

For Stuffing 

  • Cashew Nuts
  • Almonds
  • Pista
  • 4 tbsp Dessicated Coconut Powder
  • 1 tbsp Peanut Butter 

Instructions

  • To make Gram flour Modak first, place a pan on flame and add 2 tbsp of ghee to it and heat well.
  • After ghee melts, add 1 cup of gram flour and mix well and roast until golden and aromatic.
  •  After Gram flour starts leaving the ghee, add 3/4 cup of sugar and mix well.
  •  Now add 1 cup of milk and mix well.
  • Now add 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder, saffron strands(dip into hot water) and mix well.
  • Now stir continuously and cook until its start leaving the pan.
  • After Mix turns a little thick, little by little, add 1/2 cup of milk powder and mix well.
  • Now cook until the Mix starts leaving the pan.
  • After the Mix starts leaving the pan, turn off the flame, transfer the Mix to a bowl and let it cool.
  • Now, we will make stuffing, and for this, take a bowl and add 1 tbsp of chopped almonds, 1 tbsp of chopped cashew nuts and chopped pistachio.
  • Now add 4 tbsp of desiccated coconut and mix well.
  • Now add 1 tbsp of peanut butter and mix well and prepare the dough and prepare small size balls with dough
  • Now, to make Modak take a Modal Mould and grease it with oil.
  • Now, fill the gram flour mixture into Modak mould and prepare a space in the middle to add the filling.
  • Now, add the filling into the mould and close the top with the gram flour mix and seal well.
  • Now, De-mould the Modak and take it out on a plate.
  • If you don’t have Modak Mould, then take a small ball size mix.
  • Now flatten it and place a filling ball on it.
  • Now close it from all side and give the Modak shape.
  • Now, with the help of a toothpick, give a design on Modak.
  • Now, follow the same steps and make Modak from the remaining dough and stuffing.
  • Now garnish all Modak with Saffron strands and pistachio.
  • Now your Delicious Modak is completely ready.
