Today I am going to share with you a recipe for making soft spongy dhokla.
To follow this recipe, neither do you need ENO nor curd.
After following this recipe, you will get to eat Dhokla like the market and it is a very easy recipe that you can follow very easily.

Ingredients List

  • Gram Flour – 2 cup
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tbsp.
  • Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
  • Water – 2 Cup
  • salt – 2 tbsp.
  • Citric Acid – 1 tbsp.(Optional)
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp.
  • Ginger & green chili Paste – 1 tbsp.
  • Oil – 2 tbsp.
  • Baking soda – 1 tbsp.

Today I am going to share with you a recipe for making soft spongy dhokla.

Materials

  • 2 cup Gram Flour 
  • 1/4 tbsp. Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida 
  • 2 cup Water 
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp Citric Acid
  • 4 tbsp Sugar 
  • 1 tsp Ginger & green chili Paste 
  • 2 tbsp Oil 
  • 1 tbsp Baking soda

Instructions

  • First of all take a bowl and filter it with the sieve and take 2 cups gram flour.
  •  Now you add 1/4 tbsp. turmeric, 1/4 tbsp. asafoetida, ginger-garlic, and green chili paste and mix everything well.
  •  Now take another bowl and take 2 cups of water in it and just add 2 tbsp. salt, citric acid, 4 tbsp. sugar and mix everything well.
  • Now put this water slowly inside the gram flour and keep stirring it.
  • Now you add 2 tbsp. of oil to it and mix it well and then leave it to sat for 10 minutes.
  • Now you take a cake tin and brush oil on its surface.
  • Now put a pan on the gas and take 2 cups of water inside it and also put a stand in it.
  • Just after 10 minutes, add 1 tbsp. of baking soda to the gram flour and mix it well in the same dimension.
  •  Now you put this batter in the cake tin and let it cook in a pan for 15 to 20 minutes after applying the lid.
  • Now, after 15 minutes, turn off the gas and let the dhokla cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now you put a knife in it and check whether it is cooked or not.
  • Now take it out on a plate.
  • Now place a pan on the gas and put 2 tbsp. of oil in it and heat it.
  • After the oil is heated, add 1 tbsp. mustard seeds, 2 pinch asafoetida 4-5 slit green chilies, curry leaves and fry them lightly.
  • Now you add 2 cups of water to it and also add 1 tbsp. salt, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 1 tbsp. turmeric powder, and boil it.
  • Now when the water boils, leave it to cool.
  • Now cut the dhokla and put the tempering water over it.
  • Your dhokla is ready now and you can enjoy them completely.
