What is Neer Dosa and Its History?

Neer dosa (Tulu:ನೀರ್ ದೋಸೆ) in a real sense significance Water dosa is a crepe arranged from rice player. It is a light sort of dosa, an Indian dish. Neer dosa is a delicacy from the Tulu Nadu area of Karnataka. ‘Neer’ is the word for water in Tulu and a couple of other Indian dialects.

  • Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup

In this post, I am going to share a recipe for making delicious Neer dosa at Home very easily.

Materials

  • 1 cup Rice 
  • 1/2 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1 tsp Salt 
  • 1 cup Fresh Coconut 
  • 2 Chopped green chili
  • 2 tbsp Fried gram 
  • Coriander
  • Tamarind peace
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tbsp Oil 
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp asafoetida 
  • 1 tsp Urad dal 
  • 2 Chopped dry red chili 
  • Curry leaves

Instructions

  • To make Neer Dosa first of all take 1 cup of Rice and wash and soak it into the water for 3 to 4 hours.
  • After 3 to 4 Hours remove all excess water.
  • Now take a grinding jar and add soaked rice, ½ cup of grated Coconut, some water into it, and blend smooth paste.
  • Now transfer all paste into a bowl and add 2 cups of water into it and mix well and prepare a free-flowing batter.
  • Now add 1 tsp of salt and mix well.
  •  Now put a Tawa on the pan and grease Tawa with oil and heat on medium flame.
  • Now take a bowl or ladle and fill it with batter and pour the batter from the edges and turn the flame on a low medium.
  •  Now cook it until the top layer become dry.
  • Now after the top layer becomes dry then take it out on a plate.
  • Now follow the same process and Make dosa from all batter.
  • Now your dosa is ready and now we will make coconut chutney for it.
  • To make Hotel-style chutney first of all take 1 cup of fresh coconut.
  • Now take a grinding jar and transfer coconut into the jar and grind it.
  • Now into the jar, add 2 chopped green chili, 2 tbsp of the fried gram, some green coriander, 1 small piece of tamarind, salt as per taste, and add little water and blend well.
  •  Now transfer into a bowl.
  •  Now put a tadka oil pan on gas on low flame and add 1 tbsp of oil and heat.
  • After oil becomes hot then add 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 1 pinch of asafoetida 1 tsp of urad dal 2 chopped dry red chili, and some curry leaves.
  • Now turn off the flame and add it into chutney.
  • Now your chutney and Neer dosa is completely ready and you can enjoy it.
