In this post, I am going to share an easy and simple-to-make market-style Chiwda at home. 

So without wasting any time let’s start this recipe.

Ingredients of Roasted Poha Namkeen

  • Poha – 3 Cups 
  • Peanuts – 1/4 Cup 
  • Roasted Chana Dal – 2 Tbsp 
  • Chopped Almonds – 10 to 12
  • Cashew Nuts – 15 Pcs
  • Jeera(Cumin seeds)  – 1/2 tsp 
  • Dry Red chilli – 2 
  • Curry Leaves – 1 tbsp 
  • Kismis/ Dry Grapes – 1 tbsp 
  • turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp 
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp 
  • salt as per taste 
  • Dry Mango Powder/ Citric Acid – 1/2 tsp 
  • Chaat Masala – 1/2 tsp 
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp ( Optional )

In this post, I am going to share an easy and simple-to-make market-style Chiwda at home.

Materials

  • 3 cups Poha 
  • 1/4 cups Peanuts 
  • 2 tbsp Roasted Chana Dal
  • 10 - 12 pcs Chopped Almonds
  • 15 pcs Cashew Nuts
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera(Cumin seeds)
  • 2 Dry Red chilli 
  • 1 tbsp Curry Leaves 
  • 1 tbsp Kismis/ Dry Grapes
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • salt as per taste 
  • 1/2 tsp Dry Mango Powder/ Citric Acid 
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  • To make Chiwda / Roasted Poha Namkeen First place a pan on flame and heat.
  • Now add 3 cups of Poha in the pan and dry roast well for 5 to 6 minutes until it becomes crisp.
  • Now transfer it in a plate.
  • Now again place the pan on flame and 2 tbsp of oil and heat well on medium flame.
  • Now turn the flame on low and add 1/4 cup of peanuts and roast on low flame.
  • Once the peanuts are roasted, turn them aside In the pan.
  • Now add 2 tbsp of gram Pea/ Chana Dal and roast well on low medium flame.
  • Once the gram dal roasted well then keep it aside in the pan.
  • Now add 15 cashew nuts, 10 to 12 chopped almonds, and roast well.
  • Now mix everything and roast well until golden.
  • Now keep everything aside in the pan and add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 pinch of asafoetida, 2 whole red chillies, and roast well.
  • Now add 1 tbsp of curry leaves and roast well everything until crisp.
  • Now add 1 tbsp of raisins and roast well.
  • Now add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, salt as per taste, 1 tsp of dry mango powder, and mix well.
  • Now add 1/2 tsp of chaat masala and mix well.
  • Now add roasted Poha in the pan and mix well slowly.
  •  Now turn off the flame and let it cool.
  • Now add 1 tbsp of sugar powder and mix well.
  • Now your crispy Chiwda/ Poha Namkeen is ready and you can enjoy it.
  • Now you can store it in a box for 1 month.

Roasted Poha Namkeen Recipe – Step By Step

1 – To make Chiwda / Roasted Poha Namkeen First place a pan on flame and heat.

12 – Now add 1 tbsp of curry leaves and roast well everything until crisp.

17 – Now turn off the flame and let it cool.
18 – Now add 1 tbsp of sugar powder and mix well.
19 – Now your crispy Chiwda/ Poha Namkeen is ready and you can enjoy it.
