  • Green gram – 1 cup
  • Clarified Butter/Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Bay Leaf/Tej Patta – 2
  • Cumin Seed/Jeera – 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seed/Sarso – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing – 1/4 tsp
  • Curry Leaves (Curry Patte)
  • Chopped Onion – 2
  • Ginger – 2 inch
  • Garlic (Lahsun) – 8 to 10
  • Kashmiri Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
  • Chopped Tomato – 2
  • Split Green chilli – 2
  • Chopped Potato – 2
  • Chopped Carrot – 1
  • Green Peas – 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Water – 6 cup
  • Clarified Butter/Ghee – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seed/Jeera – 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing 
  • Curry Leaf/Kari Patta

  • Rice – 1 cup
  • Green gram – 1 cup
  • Clarified Butter/Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Bay Leaf/Tej Patta – 2
  • Cumin Seed/Jeera – 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seed/Sarso – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing – 1/4 tsp
  • Curry Leaves (Curry Patte)

  • Ginger – 2 inch
  • Garlic (Lahsun) – 8 to 10
  • Kashmiri Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
  • Chopped Tomato – 2
  • Split Green chilli – 2
  • Chopped Potato – 2
  • Chopped Carrot – 1
  • Green Peas – 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  • To make Perfect Masala Moong Dal Khichdi, first take 1 cup of Rice(If possible, use small Rice), 1 cup of Moong Dal.
  • Now wash Rice & Dal with water and let them soak into water for 5 minutes.
  • Now place a pan on flame, add 2 tbsp of ghee, and melt.
  • After ghee melts, add two bay leaves, 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/4 tsp of asafetida, curry leaves, two roughly chopped onions, and roast well.
  • While roasting the onion, take a crushed, add 2-inch ginger, 8-10 garlic cloves, 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, and everything crush well.
  • After onion turns translucent, add two chopped tomatoes, two slip green chillies, salt as per taste, prepared ginger garlic paste mix everything well, and roast.
  • After mixing everything, add two chopped potatoes, one chopped carrot, 1/2 cup of green peas and mix well.
  • After 2 minutes, add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of garam masala, and mix everything well.
  • After 30 seconds, add soaked Rice & Moong Dal( remove the excess water before adding), mix well, and roast.
  • Now add 6 cups of water and mix well.
  • Now close the lid and cook on high flame until one whistle and cook on the low flame until two whistles, a total of 3 whistles.
  • After three whistles, turn off the flame and release the pressure completely.
  • After pressure releases, remove the lid and check the khichdi.
  • To prepare the tempering, place a small pan on flame, add 1 tbsp of ghee, and melt.
  • After ghee melt, add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, one pinch of asafoetida, curry leaves, and two dry red chillies.
  • Now add prepared tempering on prepare Moong Dal Khichdi and garnish khichdi with chopped coriander.

11 – Now close the lid and cook on high flame until one whistle and cook on the low flame until two whistles, a total of 3 whistles.

13 – After pressure releases, remove the lid and check the khichdi.
