Layered Mathri Recipe | How to make Layered Mathri at Home | Easy Mathri Recipe
Materials
- All Purpose Flour – 2 cups
- Ajwain – 1 tsp
- Salt as per taste
- Pepper Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Ghee – 4 tbsp
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- To make Perfect Layered Mathri, first take a wide bowl and 2 cups of all-purpose flour.
- Now add 1 tsp of Ajwain, salt as per taste, 1/4 tsp of pepper powder, 3 tbsp of ghee(as required for Moin).
- Now mix & crumble well with your hands and add more ghee if required(If mix holds shape, ghee is added ideally).
- Now, little By little, add water and prepare a semi-tight dough.
- Now coat the dough with oil and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Now, take a small bowl and add 2 tbsp of ghee, 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour, and mix well.
- After 5 minutes, check the dough and knead well one more time.
- Now, prepare a log with dough, cut it into five parts, and keep all pieces covered.
- Now, take a part of the dough roll it as thin as possible.10 – Nw one by one roll all remaining four dough as thin as possible and keep them covered.
- Now, take the first rolled dough and apply ghee mix to it.
- Now, place the second Rolled dough on the first dough and apply ghee mix.
- Now, one by one, place all remaining dough and apply ghee in between.
- Now, cut the edges and make it like a rectangle.
- Now, cut it into small rectangle pieces like the following image.
- Now, take a rectangle piece and cut it into two tringle prices.
- Now, take one tringle piece, apply ghee mix on edges, fold edges, and press to stick.
- Now, one by one, prepare all Mathri.
- Now, place a pan on flame and add oil for deep fry and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, one by one, add prepared Mathri into the pan and fry on low flame.
- After Mathri turns crunch and golden, transfer them to a plate and fry the next batch.
- Now your Perfect Layered Mathri is completely ready, and you can enjoy them.
