Ingredients of Amla Chutney

  • Amla/Gooseberry – 200 gms
  • Oil – 2-3 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida – 2 pinch
  • Fenugreek Seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Urad Dal – 1 tsp
  • Channa Dal – 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilies – 5
  • Green Chilies – 6
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander – 1 bunch
  • Jaggery/Gud – 1 tbsp

Materials

  • 200 gms Amla/Gooseberry
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil 
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 2 pinch Asafoetida 
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1 tsp Urad Dal
  • 1 tsp Channa Dal
  • 5 Dry Red Chillies
  • 6 Green Chillies 
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 bunch Coriander 
  • 1 tbsp Jaggery/gud 

Instructions

  • To make the perfect Amla Chutney, take 200 grams of Amla and wash & dry all Amla.
  • Now, roughly chop all Amla and remove the middle seeds.
  • Now place a kadhai on flame, add 2-3 tbsp of oil and heat well.
  • After the oil is hot, add 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 2 pinches of asafoetida, 1/4 tsp of fenugreek seeds, 1 tsp of urad dal, 1 tsp of chana dal, 1 tbsp of curry leaves, 5-6 dry red chillies and saute everything on low flame.
  • Now add 5-6 green chillies and saute on low flame.
  • After some seconds, add chopped Amla and mix well.
  • Now add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, salt per taste, 1 tsp of cumin powder, mix everything well and cook.
  • Now, close the lid and cook on low flame until Amla turns golden.
  • Now, take one bunch of coriander and roughly chop it.
  • After Amla turns soft, turn off the flame, add chopped coriander and mix well.
  • After the chutney mix has cooled down, take a grinding jar and add chutney mix to it.
  • Now, add 1 tbsp of crushed jaggery, grind well, make a coarse paste, and do not add water.
  • Now your Amla Chutney is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
  • If you want to store your chutney for a year, take an ice tray and fill prepared chutney into it.
  • Now, keep the ice tray in the freezer until it turns into ice cubes.
  • Now, transfer the ice cubes into a zip lock packet and store the package in the freezer.
  • Now, whenever you want to eat your chutney, just take an ice cube, let it melt, and then you can enjoy it.
