Tomato Chutney Recipe | How to make Tomato Chutney at Home | Tamatar Ki Chutney
Materials
- Tomato – 1 Kg
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Cumin Seed – 1/2 tsp
- Mustard Seed – 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
- Chopped Onion – 1
- Chopped Green chilli – 3 to 4
- Chopped Ginger – 1.5 inch
- Chopped Garlic – 12
- Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Kashmiri Red chilly powder – 2 tsp
- Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
- Salt as per Taste Jaggery – 4 to 5 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- White Vinegar – 3 tbsp
Instructions
- To make the perfect tomato chutney, first 1 kg of red tomatoes and wash them.
- Now, place a pan on the flame, add water, and heat well.
- Now add tomatoes into hot water and boil for 1.5 to 2 minutes.
- After 2 minutes, turn off the flame and transfer the tomatoes to a plate.
- Now, remove the peel of all tomatoes and roughly chop them.
- Now, take a grinding jar, add tomatoes into it and make a fine paste.
- Now transfer the tomato paste into a bowl.
- Now place a Kadhai on flame, add 2 tbsp of oil and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds and let them crackle.
- Now add 1/4 tsp of asafoetida, one chopped onion and roast well until golden.
- After onion turns translucent, add 3-4 chopped green chilli, 1.5 inches of chopped ginger, 10-12 chopped garlic cloves, and saute well.
- While roasting the chutney mix, take a bowl and add 1 tbsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
- Now add 2-3 tbsp of water, mix well and make a paste.
- Now add prepared masala paste into kadhai, mix well and roast.
- After the masala releases the oil, add prepared tomato puree, salt as per taste and mix well.
- Now, close the lid and cook the chutney for 6 minutes.
- After six minutes, check the chutney, add 4-5 tbsp of crushed jaggery and mix well.
- Now add 2 tbsp of oil, mix well and cook on low flame for 5 minutes with the closed lid.
- After 5 minutes, check your chutney and turn off the flame.
- Now store your chutney for two months, add 3 tbsp of white vinegar and mix well.
- Now garnish your chutney with chopped coriander(if you want to store your chutney for a long time, do not add coriander).
- Now your Perfect tomato chutney is ready, and you can enjoy it.
