What is Kheer and its History?
Kheer, payasa, payasam, or phirni is a kind of pudding from the Indian subcontinent, made by bubbling milk, sugar, and rice, despite the fact that rice might be subbed with one of the accompanyings: bulgar wheat, millet, custard, vermicelli, or sweet corn.
It is commonly seasoned with dried up coconut, cardamom, raisins, saffron, cashews, pistachios, almonds, or other dry foods grown from the ground. It is ordinarily served during dinner or as a pastry.
The primary notice of Kheer might be found as the Sanskrit word Kshirika, which means a dish arranged with milk, in the fourteenth-century Padmavat of Gujarat. Rice Kheer Recipe | How to make Delicious Kheer at Home |
Materials
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 12 pcs Almond’s
- 10 pcs Cashew Nuts
- 8 pcs Pistachio
- 1 tsp Kismis / Raisins
- 1 liter Full Fat Milk
- 1 pinch Saffron strands
- 50 gram Rice
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
- 1/2 cup Sugar
Instructions
- To make thick Rice Kheer First of all put a pan on gas on medium flame and add 1 tsp of ghee and heat.
- Now add 12 pcs of almonds, 10 pcs of chopped cashew nuts 8 pcs of chopped pistachio, fry everything until becomes golden.
- Now take out everything on a plate.
- Now add some raisins in the pan fry them and frying take them out on a plate.
- Now put a heavy base kadhai on gas and add 2 tbsp of water in it and after this add 1 liter of full-fat milk in it and Boil.
- Now take a small bowl and add 1 pinch on the saffron strand and 1 tbsp of boiled Milk in it and keep it aside.
- Now Take 50 grams of soaked rice ( Soak rice in water for 30 minutes ) and add it to Milk.
- Now stir continuously and cook rice in milk on medium flame.
- Now take cardamom and grind it and prepare powder of it.
- Now add prepared Kesar milk in Kadai and mix well.
- Now add 1/2 cup of sugar in a kadhai and mix well.
- Now everything cooked well then add roasted dry fruits and 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder in it and mix well and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
- Now turn off the gas and take the kheer out in a bowl.
- Now your delicious Rice kheer is completely Ready and you can enjoy it.
