  • Bengal gram/Chana dal -1 tbsp
  • Black gram/Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds  -1 tsp
  • Coriander Seed –  1 tbsp
  • Fenugreek Seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Curry Leaf
  • Garlic  – 8 to 10
  • Chopped Onion -6
  • Dried Red Chili – 8-10
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Tamarind Imli –  2 tbsp
  • Water – 4 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Mustard Seed /Rai – 1 tsp
  • Cumin Seed/Jeera -1/2 tsp
  • Aniseed (Fennel Seeds) – 1 tsp
  • Black gram/Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Nigella Seeds – 1/8 tsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing – 1/4 tsp
  • Curry Leaf
  • Kashmiri Red Chili Powder -1 tsp
  • water – 1/2 cup
  • Salt as per Taste

  • Oil -3 tbsp
  • Bengal gram/Chana dal -1 tbsp
  • Black gram/Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds  -1 tsp
  • Coriander Seed –  1 tbsp
  • Fenugreek Seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Curry Leaf
  • Garlic  – 8 to 10
  • Chopped Onion -6
  • Dried Red Chili – 8-10
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Tamarind Imli –  2 tbsp
  • Water – 4 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Mustard Seed /Rai – 1 tsp
  • Cumin Seed/Jeera -1/2 tsp
  • Aniseed (Fennel Seeds) – 1 tsp
  • Black gram/Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Nigella Seeds – 1/8 tsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing – 1/4 tsp
  • Curry Leaf
  • Kashmiri Red Chili Powder -1 tsp
  • water – 1/2 cup
  • Salt as per Taste 

Instructions

  • To make the amazing Onion Chutney, place a pan on flame, add 3 tbsp of oil, and heat well.
  • After the oil is hot, add 1 tbsp of chana dal, 1 tbsp of urad dal, 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tbsp of coriander seeds, 1/4 tsp of fenugreek seeds, some curry leaves, and saute everything a little.
  • After some seconds, add 8-10 garlic cloves and saute well.
  • After the garlic turns a little golden, add 6 roughly chopped onions and roast well until it turns translucent.
  • After the onion turns little pink, add 8-10 dry red chilli and roast.
  • Next step – add salt as per taste, 1 tbsp of seedless tamarind, mix well, and roast.
  • Next step – turn off the flame and let the chutney mix cool.
  • Next step – take a grinding jar, add chutney mix & 4 tbsp of water.
  • Next step – grind well and make a fine paste.
  • Next step – place a Kadhai on flame, add 2 tbsp of oil, and heat well on low flame.
  • After the oil is hot, add 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of fennel, 1 tbsp of Urad dal, 1/8 tsp of Nigella seeds(kalonji), 1/2 tsp of asafoetida, some curry leaves, and 1/4 tsp of red chilli powder and mix well on low flame.
  • After mixing well, add chutney mix, 1/2 cup of water, and mix well.
  • Next step – add salt as per taste, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes with a closed lid.
  • After 3-4 minutes turn off the flame and it is ready to serve.
  • Now your amazing Onion chutney is completely ready and you can enjoy it.
  • You can store this onion chutney for 30 days in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer.
