Punjabi Chole Masala Recipe | How to make Chole Masala at Home | Chana Masala Recipe
Materials
- 250 grams Kabuli Chana
- 2 Tea Bag
- 3 Bay leaf
- 2 glass Water
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- Salt as per taste
- 1/2 pcs Finely chopped onion
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- 1/2 inch Finely chopped Ginger
- 1 pcs Green chilli
- 5 tbsp Cooking oil
- 1/2 tsp Kasuri Methi
- 2 tbsp Chana Masala
- 2 Bay Leaf
- 1 pcs Red chilli
- 1 pcs Cinnamon
- 2 pcs Cardamom
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 5 pcs Black Pepper
- 2 pcs Cloves
- Finey chopped coriander
- Sal as per taste
- 1/2 tsp Black salt
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Red chilli
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/2 tsp Dry Mango Powder
Instructions
- To make Perfect Punjabi Chole Masala take 1 cup of Kabuli Chana and soak it into the water for 6-7 hours/overnight.
- Now, take a teabag if you don’t have a tea bag; Then, make a bundle by tying the tea powder in a cloth and using it.
- Now, place a cooker on flame and transfer Kabuli chana tea bag, bay leaf, 2 glasses of water, 1/2 tsp of baking soda, 1 tsp of salt.
- Now close the lid and cook until 6-7 whistle.
- After 6-7 whistle, turn off the flame and after pressure release, transfer the chana to a bowl.
- Now take 2 finely chopped onions, the paste of 2 tomatoes, 1/2 inch of chopped ginger, 1 slit green chilli, 1 tsp garlic paste, mix on 1/2 inch of chopped ginger &1 pcs of chilli, oil.
- Now, place a pan on flame, add 4 tbsp of oil, and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, add 2 bay leaves, 1 dry red chilli, 1 pcs of cinnamon stick, 2 pcs of cardamom, 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 4-5 peppercorn, 2 cloves, and mix everything well and saute.
- Now add chopped onion and mix well and roast until it turns a little pink.
- Now add ginger and green chilli mixture and mix well and roast for 1 minute.
- After 1 minute, add 1 tsp of garlic paste, mix well, and roast.
- After the onion turns golden, add tomato paste and mix well, and roast.
- After 2 minutes, add 2 tbsp of chana masala, salt as per taste, black salt, 1/2 tsp, coriander, 1 tsp, turmeric powder 1/2 tsp, Kashmiri red chilli powder 1/2 tsp, garam masala, 1/2 tsp, dry mango powder 1/2 tsp and mix everything well and roast.
- Now add 4 tbsp of water, mix well, and roast until the oil starts releasing.
- After masala starts relating the oil, add chopped coriander, slit green chilli, chopped garlic, Kasuri methi, and mix everything well.
- Now add boiled chole and mix well.
- Now add water as required and mix well and cook for a minute.
- Now turn off the flame and garnish it with chopped coriander, slit green chilli, and ginger.
- Now your Perfect Punjabi style chole is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.

Chole Masala Recipe – Step By Step

13 – After 2 minutes, add 2 tbsp of chana masala, salt as per taste, black salt, 1/2 tsp, coriander, 1 tsp, turmeric powder 1/2 tsp, Kashmiri red chilli powder 1/2 tsp, garam masala, 1/2 tsp, dry mango powder 1/2 tsp and mix everything well and roast.
14 – Now add 4 tbsp of water, mix well, and roast until the oil starts releasing.
