Moong Dal Halwa Recipe | How to make Moong Dal Halwa at Home | Danedar Moong dal Halwa
Materials
- 1 cup Yellow Moong Dal
- 2 tbsp Sooji/Semolina
- 2 tbsp Besan/Gram Flour
- 1/2 cup Ghee
- 10 Cashew Nuts
- Chopped Almonds
- 1/2 ltr Chopped Pista Milk
- 1 pinch Saffron Strands
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
Instructions
- To make a Perfect Moong dal halwa, first take 1 cup of yellow moong dal.
- Now wash the moong dal well with water to remove the impurities.
- Now, remove the water with the help of a strainer.
- Now, pour the moong dal on a towel and let it dry for some time.
- After moong dal turns a little dry, place a pan on flame and add dry moong dal to it and dry roast until it turns golden and aromatic and stirs continuously.
- After moong dal turns a little golden add 2 tbsp of semolina, 2 tbsp of gram flour and mix well and roast.
- After moong dal roast completely, turn off the flame, transfer it to a plate, and let it cool.
- Now, take a grinding jar, add moong dal to it, grind on the pulse, and make a coarse powder.
- Now, you can store the premix into an airtight box for six months.
- Now, place a heavy-based pan on flame and add 2 tbsp of ghee and melt.
- After ghee melts, add dry fruits and mix well and roast.
- Now, take out all dry fruits into a plate.
- Now add prepared moong dal powder into the pan, mix well, and roast on low flame.
- After some time, add 2 tbsp of hot ghee and mix well and roast.
- While Cooking the halwa, take a pan and add 1/2 litre of milk, one pinch of saffron strands.
- Now, place the pan on flame and boil the milk.
- After halwa starts releasing the ghee little by little, add hot milk into halwa and mix well.
- Now add 2 tbsp of ghee and mix well again and cook.
- Now add 1 cup of sugar and mix well.
- Now, one more time, add 1 tbsp of ghee and stir continuously and cook.
- Now, close the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
- After 2 minutes, check the halwa and add 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder, fried dry fruits and mix well.
- Now your Moong Dal Halwa is ready, and you can serve it and garnish it with dry fruits.
