Methi Mathri Recipe | How to make Methi Mathri at Home | Easy Mathri Recipe
Materials
- Chopped Methi -2 Cup
- Ghee -1 tbsp
- Wheat flour – 1.5 cup
- Semolina – 1/2 cup
- Cumin Seed/Jeera – 1/2 tsp
- Carom Seed/Ajwain – 1 tsp
- Black Pepper corns – 1 tsp
- Red Chili Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Salt as per Taste
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
- White sesame seeds – 1 tbsp
- Sugar- 1 tsp
- Clarified Butter/Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Corn flour – 2 tbsp
- Clarified Butter/Ghee – 3 tbsp
Instructions
- To make Perfect Methi Mathri, first take 2 cups of finely chopped Methi and make sure you remove all stalks.
- Now place a pan on medium flame, add 1 tbsp of ghee, and heat well.
- Now, in hot ghee, add chopped Methi, mix well, and cook until it becomes a little soft.
- After Methi turns soft, turn off the flame.
- Now, take a bowl and add 1.5 cups of wheat flour, 1/2 cup of semolina.
- Now add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of carom seeds, 1 tsp of crushed peppercorn, 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder, salt as per taste, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1 tbsp of white sesame seeds.
- Now add cooked Methi, 1 tsp of sugar powder(optional), and mix everything well.
- Now add 2 tbsp of ghee and mix well, and if the mix holds shape, this means the Moin is perfect.
- Now, little by little, add water, make a tight dough, and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Now, take a bowl and add 2 tbsp of cornflour, 3 tbsp of ghee, whisk well and make a paste.
- After 10 minutes, check the dough, add some drops of ghee, and knead well one more time.
- Now, make a log with dough and cut it into equal parts.
- Now, take a part of the dough and roll it thin like Roti.
- Now spread prepared cornflour paste on prepared Roti.
- Now fold the two Roti corners like the following image.
- Now again, spread the prepared cornflour paste on the top of Roti.
- Now again, fold the remaining two edges and make a squire.
- Now roll it into squire roti and spread the prepared paste on top of it.
- Now fold the squire roti like the following image and make it like a log.
- Now sprinkle dust on a prepared log and roll a little.
- Now, cut it into medium sticks.
- Now, prepare Methi Mathri sticks from the remaining dough.
- Now, place a pan on flame and add oil for frying and heat well.
- After the hot oil, add prepared Mathri into the pan and fry well until golden and crispy.
- After methi sticks turn golden and crispy, transfer them to a plate and fry the next batch.
- Now your Crispy and perfect Methi Mathri is ready, and you can enjoy it.

Methi Mathri Recipe – Step By Step
