  • Makhana(lotus seeds) – 80 grams 
  • Cashew Nuts – 1/2 cup 
  • Desiccated coconut – 1/2 cup 
  • Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp 
  • Milk – 500 ML
  • Sugar – 3/4 cup 
  • Chopped almonds
  • Pistachio
  • Saffron strands

Materials

  • 80 grams Makhana(lotus seeds)
  • 1/2 cup Cashew Nuts
  • 1/2 cup Desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder 
  • 500 ML Milk 
  • 3/4 cup Sugar 
  • Chopped almonds
  • Pistachio
  • Saffron strands 

Instructions

  • To make perfect Makhana Barfi, first 80 grams of Makhana(Fox Nut).
  • Now place a pan on low, medium flame, add Makhana into it, and dry roast for 2 minutes.
  • After Makhana turns crispy, turn off the flame and transfer them to a plate and let it cool.
  • Now into the pan, add 1/2 cup of cashew nuts and roast on low, medium flame.
  • Now, turn off the flame and transfer it to a plate.
  • Now, take a grinding jar, add Makhana to it, grind well, and make a fine powder.
  • Now transfer Makhana Powder to a plate.
  • Now add cashew into the jar, grind well on the pulse, and make a fine powder.
  • Now, place the pan on flame and add 1/2 cup of desiccated coconut and dry roast on low flame.
  • Now, turn off the flame and transfer it to the plate.
  • Now, take out the makhana powder, cashew powder and desiccated coconut on one plate.
  • Now add 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder and mix everything well.
  • Now place a pan on flame, add 500 ML of milk, and boil and stir continuously.
  • While Boiling the milk, take a tray and grease it with oil/ghee and place butter paper into it.
  • After milk starts boiling, add 3/4 cup of sugar and mix well and boil.
  • After sugar melts, add prepared mix into the milk, mix well, and cook until the mixture starts leaving the pan.
  • When the mix starts leaving the pan, turn off the flame, transfer it to the tray, and spread well.
  • Now garnish it with chopped pistachio, chopped almonds and saffron strands.
  • Now let it set for 1 to 2 hours
  • Now, take out barfi on the platform and cut it into pieces
  • Now your Makhana Barfi Paag is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
