Homemade Horlicks Recipe | How to make Horlicks at Home | Horlicks Powder Recipe
Materials
- Wheat – 1 cup
- Almonds – 50 gms
- Peanuts – 50 gms(optional)
- Milk Powder – 50 gms
- Elachi powder – 1 tsp
- Coco powder/Drinking chocolate powder – 1 tbsp
Instructions
- First, take 1 cup of wheat, wash & soak it into the water for 6-7 hours or overnight.
- After 6-7 hours, drain the water and transfer the wheat to a cloth.
- Now hand the cloth in the kitchen where there is no sunlight(sprinkle water 3-4 times a day) for 2 days.
- You can also keep the wheat with the cotton cloth in a Casrol (sprinkle water 3-4 times a day) for 2 days.
- You can also keep the wheat with the cotton cloth in a sprout maker; sprinkle water 3-4 times, and your sprout will be ready in two days.
- One more tip – Do not sprinkle water on the day before making the powder.
- After 2 days, check your wheat sprout.
- Now, place a pan on flame and heat a little.
- Now add sprout into pan and roast until golden & crisp, on low flame. And stir continuously.
- To check that your sprout is roasted well, take a few sprouts on a platform and crush with a roller or spatula; if your sprout cracks, this means your sprouts are perfect for making the powder.
- Now turn off the flame, transfer the sprout to a plate and let it a little cool.
- Now add 50 grams of almonds into the pan and roast for 2 minutes.
- After 2 minutes, transfer the roasted almonds to a plate.
- Now add 50 grams of peanuts and roast for 2 minutes.
- After 2 minutes, turn off the flame and transfer the roasted peanuts to the plate(You can also use any other dry fruits you want).
- Now, take a grinding jar, add roasted sprout to it, grind it 3-4 times and make a fine powder.
- Now, sieve the sprout powder with the strainer helps, and your homemade malts are ready.
- Now, take a plastic bag, add roasted almonds & peanuts to it and crush them with the help of a roller pin.
- Now add the crushed powder into the grinding jar, grind on the pulse and make a fine powder.
- Now, sieve the almonds-peanuts powder into sprout powder and mix well.
- Now add 50 grams of milk powder and mix well.
- Now, I am giving two different flavors, so I am dividing the powder into 2 portions; you can skip this step if you want to make just one flavor.
- Now, take the first bowl, add 1 tsp of cardamom powder and mix well.
- Now, take the second bowl, add 1 tbsp of cocoa powder and mix well.
- You can also add sugar powder or organic jaggery, or brown sugar in your Horlicks.
- Add more milk powder to your Horlicks if you travel, so you only need to add the water to your Horlicks.
- Now your Cardamom & chocolate flavor Horlicks is ready, and you can enjoy them.
- You can store these Horlicks for 1 month in the fridge.
- You can give these Horlicks to children above two years 1 spoon a day, and you can provide 2 spoons every day to older people.
