Dal Palak Recipe | How to make Dal Palak at Home | Spinach Dal Recipe
Materials
- Green gram/Moong Dal – 1 Cup
- Spinach Clarified Butter – 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
- Salt as per Taste
- Cinnamon Stick
- Cardamom – 2
- Bay Leaf – 2
- Clarified Butter/Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Cumin Seed/Jeera – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
- Chopped Garlic – 2 tbsp
- Ginger – 1.5 tbsp
- Green chilli – 3
- Chopped Onion – 2
- Gram flour – 1 tbsp
- Chopped Tomato – 2
- Salt as per Taste
- Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp
- Clarified Butter/Ghee – 1 tbsp
- Cumin Seed/Jeera – 1/2 tsp
- Chopped Garlic – 1 tsp
- Chopped Ginger
- Dried Red Chili
- Kashmiri Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
- Kasoori Methi – 1 tsp
Instructions
- To make the perfect Dal Palak, take 1 cup of Green Gram/moong dal.
- Now wash the Moong dal with water and soak it into the water for 1/2 hour.
- Now, take 2 cups of spinach, wash it, remove the stalk and chop it.
- Now, place a cooker on flame, add soaked Moong Dal(remove the excess water before adding).
- Now add water, 1 tsp of ghee, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, salt as per taste, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 green cardamoms, 2 bay leaves.
- Now, close the lid and cook on medium flame until two whistles.
- After 2 whistles, turn off the flame, release the pressure and let it cool.
- Now, place a kadhai on flame, add 2 tsp of ghee, and melt.
- After ghee melts, add 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp of asafoetida, and let them crankle.
- Now add 1.5 tbsp of chopped ginger, 2 tbsp of chopped garlic, 3 finely chopped green chilli, and saute.
- After some seconds, add 2 finely chopped onions and saute on medium to high flame and stir continuously.
- After the onion turns brown, add 1 tbsp of gram flour, mix well, and roast.
- Now add 2 finely chopped tomatoes, salt as per taste, and mix well.
- Now add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of red chilli powder, 1 tsp of cumin powder, 1 tbsp of coriander, mix well, and roast on low to a medium flame.
- After the masala starts releasing the oil., add chopped spinach and saute well.
- After some seconds, close the lid and cook for 1 minute.
- After one minute, add cooked Dal, warm water as required, and mix well.
- Now, place a tempering pan on flame, add 1 tbsp of ghee, and melt.
- Now add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of chopped garlic, chopped ginger, 2 dry red chillies, 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 tsp of Kasuri methi, and mix well.
- Now pour the prepared Tempering on the Dal.
- Now, close the lid and cook for 1 minute.
- After a minute, remove the lid, turn off the flame, and garnish it with chopped coriander and slit green chillies.
- Now your perfect Dal Palak is ready, and you can enjoy it.
