  • Chopped Green Chili – 1 tbsp
  • Chopped Ginger – 1 inch

  • Tamarind Chutney

Materials

  • Urad Dal/White Lentil – 1/2 Cup
  • Moong Yellow Dal/Skinned Dal – 1/2 Cup
  • Salt as per Taste 
  • Asafoetida/Hing -1/4 tsp
  • Chopped Green Chili – 1 tbsp
  • Chopped Ginger – 1 inch
  • Green Chutney 
  • Whisked Curd 
  • Tamarind Chutney 

Instructions

  • To make the perfect and Soft Dahi Vada, take a 1/2 cup of Urad Dal and 1/2 Cup of Moong Dal.
  • Now, soak Urad Dal and Moong Dal in the water for 4 hours.
  • After 4 hours, drain the water completely.
  • Now, take a grinding jar and add moong dal & Urad dal into it.
  • Now add 2-3 tbsp of water, grind well and make a coarse, fluffy batter.
  • Now transfer the batter to a bowl.
  • Now add salt as per taste, 1/4 tsp pf asafoetida, and whisk well for 5-6 minutes.
  • Now, take a small portion of batter and add it to water; if the batter floats on the water, this means the batter is perfect for making the Vada.
  • Now add 1 tbsp of chopped green chilli, 1/2 inch of chopped ginger, and mix well.
  • Now cover the batter and rest for 5-6 minutes.
  • Now, place a pan on flame, add oil for frying, and heat well.
  • Now, one by one, take a small portion of batter and drop them into oil and fry well.
  • While frying the Vada, take hot water in a bowl.
  • Now add 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of asafoetida, and mix well.
  • After the Vada turns golden, transfer them to a plate and fry the next watch (If you want, you can store the Vada in an air-tight box for 15 days).
  • Now transfer the fried Vada into hot water and leave them for 5 minutes.
  • Now, take a plate and add fried Dahi Vada to it.
  • Now add whisked Curd, Green chutney, and tamarind chutney.
  • Now sprinkle roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder, black salt, and chaat masala.
  • Now your Perfect Dahi Vada is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
