  • Ginger and Garlic Paste – 1 tsp 
  • Chopped Potato – 1 
  • Bengal gram  – 1/4 cup(4 tbsp) 
  • Turmeric Powder -1/2 tsp 
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp 
  • Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp 
  • Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp 
  • Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp 
  • Rice – 1 cup 
  • Water – 1.5 cup 
  • Salt as per Taste 
  • Tamarind juice – 1 tbsp 
  • Chopped Coriander

  • Ghee – 2 tbsp 
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp 
  • Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp

  • Bay Leaf  – 1

  • Bengal gram  – 1/4 cup(4 tbsp) 
  • Turmeric Powder -1/2 tsp 
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp 
  • Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp 
  • Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp 
  • Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp 
  • Rice – 1 cup 
  • Water – 1.5 cup 
  • Salt as per Taste 
  • Tamarind juice – 1 tbsp 
  • Chopped Coriander

Instructions

  • To make the excellent Chana Dal Aloo Rice, place a cooker on flame, add 2 tbsp of ghee and melt.
  • After the ghee melts, 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp of asafoetida, one bay leaf, two cloves, 3-4 black peppercorns, one big cardamom, one cinnamon stick, and fry everything on low flame.
  • Next step – add one chopped onion, two dry red chillies, and one chopped green chilli, and roast everything well.
  • After the onion turn little soft, add 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste, and mix well.
  • After 1 minute, add one chopped potato and fry well.
  • Next step – add 1/4 cup of Bengal gram/Chana Dal(Soaked into ward water for 5-10 minutes) and mix well.
  • After 2 minutes, add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp of cumin powder, 1/2 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of garam masala, and mix everything well.
  • Next step – add 1 cup of washed rice, mix well and cook for 1 minute.
  • After 1 minute, add 1.5 cups of water and mix well.
  • Next step – add salt per taste, 1 tbsp of tamarind water, chopped coriander, and mix well.
  • Next step – close the lid and cook the rice until one whistle on medium-high flame.
  • After one whistle, turns the flame low and cook for 30 seconds.
  • After 30 second, turn off the flame and let the pressure release completely.
  • After the pressure releases, remove the lid, little ghee & chopped coriander, and mix well.
  • Now your, amazing Chana Dal Aloo Rice is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.

Chana Dal Pulao Recipe – Step By Step
