Materials

  • 1 cup Corn Flour 
  • 2 cup Water 
  • 2 cup Sugar 
  • 5 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice 
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Food Colour 

Instructions

  • To make the perfect Bombay Karachi Halwa, take a bowl, and add 1 cup of cornflour.
  • Now, little by little, add 2 cups of water, mix well and prepare a thin batter.
  • Now, take a bowl, grease it with Ghee or oil, place a butter paper, and spread chopped pistachio into it.
  • Now, place a pan on low flame, add 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of water, and melt the sugar.
  • After sugar melts, turn off the flame, little by little, add cornflour batter and mix well.
  • Now, turn on the flame and cook it on a low flame until it turns thick(and stir continuously).
  • After the halwa turns thick, add 1 tbsp of Ghee (first), mix well and cook.
  • When Ghee gets completely absorbed, add 1 tbsp of Ghee (second), mix well and cook.
  • When Ghee gets completely absorbed, add 1 tbsp of Ghee (third), 1 tsp of lemon juice, mix well and cook.
  • When Ghee gets completely absorbed, add 1 tbsp of Ghee (fourth), mix well and cook.
  • When Ghee gets completely absorbed, add 1 tbsp of Ghee (fifth, total 5 tbsp of Ghee), mix well and cook.
  • Now add 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder and mix well.
  • When Ghee gets completely absorbed, add 1/4 tsp of orange food colour, and mix well.
  • Now add 1 tbsp of watermelon seeds(optional), mix well, and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Turn off the flame when the pudding becomes like jelly and starts leaving the pan.
  • Now transfer the halwa into a greased tray, spread well, and set it for 1-2 hours.
  • After 1-2 hours, check your halwa and transfer it to a chopping board or platform.
  • Now, cut your halwa into small pieces.
  • Now your Perfect Bombay Karachi Halwa is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
