Easy Aloo Tikki Recipe | How to make Aloo Tikki at Home | Aalu Tikki Recipe
Materials
- 1 kg Potato
- 1/2 cup Chana Dal
- 1 tsp Grated Ginger
- 1 tsp Chopped Chilli
- Salt as per taste
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 tsp Chaat Masala
- Finely Chopped Coriander
- 3 tbsp Boiled and mashed Green Peas
Instructions
- To make the Perfect Market-style Aloo Tikki, first take 1/2 cup of chana dal and wash & soak it into the water for 1/2 hour.
- Now place a cooker on flame and add soaked dal( Remove the excess water before adding into cooker), one glass of water.
- Now, close the lid and cook until two whistles.
- After two whistles, turn off the flame and check the dal if it cooked well, then turn off the flame.
- Now turn off the flame and remove the excess water and transfer the dal into a bowl.
- Now, slightly mash the dal.
- Now into dal, add 1 tsp of grated ginger, 1 tsp of chopped green chili, salt per taste, 1/2 tsp of red chili powder, 1 tsp of chaat masala, finely chopped coriander, 3 tbsp of boiled and mashed green peas.
- Now, mix everything well and keep it aside.
- Now, take eight boiled and peeled potatoes and make sure that potatoes are cool completely.
- Now grate all potatoes into a bowl.
- Now, add 8 tbsp arrowroot powder( Alternatively, you can use rice flour, Poha powder, bread crumb).
- Now add 2 tbsp of rice flour, salt as per taste, 1 tsp of chili powder, finely chopped coriander, mix everything, and prepare a tight dough.
- Now, grease your hands and pinch a ball-size potato mix.
- Now, spread it with your hand and prepare a bowl shape.
- Now add 1 tbsp of stuffing on aloo Tikki mix.
- Now close it from all sides and make a round Tikki.
- Now prepare Tikki from the remaining mix( You can store this Tikki into an air-tight box).
- Now, place a pan on flame, add oil for shallow Drying, and heat well on medium flame.
- After the oil is hot, one by one, add Tikki into the pan and fry well on both sides until it turns golden.
- After some time, flip the Tikki and fry well on another side.
- After Tikki turns golden, transfer them into a plate and fry the next batch.
- Now your market-style Aloo Tikki is ready, and you can enjoy them.
