Ingredients of Aloo Matar Recipe 

  • Potato – 3
  • Green Peas – 1 cup
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Clarified Butter/Ghee – 1 tsp
  • Bay Leaf Tej Patta- 2
  • Green Cardamom – 1
  • Black Cardamom – 1
  • Black Peppercorn – 8 to 10
  • Dried Red Chili – 2
  • Cinnamon Stick – 2
  • Cloves/Laung – 4
  • Asafoetida/Hing – 1/4 tsp
  • Chopped Onion – 2
  • Green chilli – 3 to 4
  • Chopped Ginger – 1.5-inch
  • Garlic – 7 to 8
  • Gram flour – 1.5 tbsp
  • Kasoori Methi – 1 tbsp
  • Chopped Tomato – 3
  • Salt as per Taste 
  • Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chili – 1/2 tsp
  • Kashmiri Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper Powder – 1/2 tsp

Materials

  • Potato – 3
  • Green Peas – 1 cup
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Clarified Butter/Ghee – 1 tsp
  • Bay Leaf Tej Patta- 2
  • Green Cardamom – 1
  • Black Cardamom – 1
  • Black Peppercorn – 8 to 10
  • Dried Red Chili –
  • Cinnamon Stick – 2
  • Cloves/Laung – 4
  • Asafoetida/Hing – 1/4 tsp
  • Chopped Onion – 2
  • Green chilli – 3 to 4
  • Chopped Ginger – 1.5-inch
  • Garlic – 7 to 8
  • Gram flour – 1.5 tbsp
  • Kasoori Methi – 1 tbsp
  • Chopped Tomato – 3
  • Salt as per Taste 
  • Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chili – 1/2 tsp
  • Kashmiri Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper Powder – 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  • To make Perfect Dhaba Style Aloo Matar Ki Sabji, first 3 peeled & washed potatoes and cut them into medium-sized pieces.
  • Take 1 cup of green peas and wash & boil it once( you can also use raw peas).
  • Now place a pan on flame, add 2 tbsp of oil, and heat well.
  • After the oil is hot, add potato pieces into kadhai and roast well for 2-3 minutes.
  • After potatoes turn a little golden, transfer them to the plate.
  • Now into Kadhai with remaining oil, add 1 tsp of Ghee, and heat a little.
  • Now add 2 Bay leaves, 1 green cardamom, 1 black cardamom, 8-10 black peppercorns, 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 cloves, 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp of asafoetida, and saute on low flame.
  • After some seconds, add 2 dry red chillies, 2 finely chopped onions, and roast until the onion turns brown and stir continuously.
  • After onion turns a little translucent, add 3-4 chopped green chillies, 1.5 inches of chopped ginger, 7-8 chopped garlic pieces, and roast well.
  • After some time add, 1.5 tbsp of gram flour and mix and saute well.
  • Now add 1 tbsp of Kasuri methi and mix well.
  • Now add coarse puree of 3 tomatoes, salt as per taste, mix well, and cook on low flame.
  • Now, take a bowl and add 2 tbsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder, 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 tsp of cumin powder, 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder, and mix well.
  • Now add 2-3 tbsp of water, mix well and make a paste.
  • Now add masala paste into the kadhai and mix well and saute.
  • Now, close the lid and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • After 3-4 minutes, remove the lid, add boiled peas, mix well, and cook for 1 minute (if you are using normal peas, then cook a little more).
  • After 1 minute, add fries potato and mix well.
  • After 1 minute, add 1-1.5 cups of boiled water and mix well.
  • Now, close the lid and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes with a closed lid.
  • After 2 minutes, turn off the flame and garnish it with chopped ginger, split green chilli, coriander.
  • Now your Aloo Matar is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.

Aloo Matar Recipe – Step By Step

1 – To make Perfect Dhaba Style Aloo Matar Ki Sabji, first 3 peeled & washed potatoes and cut them into medium-sized pieces.

11 – Now add 1 tbsp of Kasuri methi and mix well.
12 – Now add coarse puree of 3 tomatoes, salt as per taste, mix well, and cook on low flame.

14 – Now add 2-3 tbsp of water, mix well and make a paste.
