Dal Palak Recipe | How to make Dal Palak at Home | Dal Paalak Recipe
Materials
- Palak – 350 gm
- Moong Dal – 1 cup
- Bengal Gram – 1/4 cup
- Bay Leaf – 1 pcs
- Cardamom – 2 pcs
- Cinnamon – 1 stick
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
- Ghee – 3 tsp
- Cumin – 1 tsp
- Grated Ginger – 1/2 inch
- Chopped Green Chilli – 3 pcs
- Chopped Garlic – 6 cloves
- Chopped Onion – 1 pcs
- Chopped Tomato – 2 pcs
- Salt as per Taste
- Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
- Cumin Powder – 2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Water Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tbsp Cumin
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tbsp
- Ginger Julians
- Dry Red Chilli – 2 pcs
- Kasoori Methi
- Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Instructions
- To make the amazing Dal Palak, take 350 grams of palak and finely chop it.
- Now place a pan on flame, add water, and boil well.
- After the water starts boiling, turn off the flame, add the chopped palak, and leave it for 1 minute.
- After a minute, drain the water and keep the water aside (we will use it later).
- Now take 1/4 cup of moong dal, 1 cup of moong dal, and 1/4 cup of Chana Dal and soak them for 20-30 minutes.
- Now place a cooker on flame, add soaked dal, water (Palak water), 2 green cardamoms, 1 cinnamon stick, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, and 1 tsp of ghee, and mix well.
- Now close the lid and cook on medium flame until a whistle.
- Now place a kadhai on flame, add 2 tablespoons of ghee, and heat well.
- After the ghee melts, add 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1/2 inch of grated ginger, 2-3 chopped green chillies, and 5-6 garlic cloves, and roast well on low flame.
- Now add 1 tsp. of chopped onion and roast well until golden.
- After the onion turns golden, add 2 chopped tomatoes, salt as per taste, and cook ell.
- After the tomatoes turn soft, add 1 tsp of red chili powder, 2 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of cumin powder, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, and a little water, and mix everything well.
- After cooking well, add the cooked Dal and mix well (add hot water to adjust the consistency).
- After some time, add blanch palak and 1/2 tsp of garam masala and cook well for 2 minutes.
- Now place a tempering pan on flame, add ghee, and heat well.
- After the ghee is hot, add cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp of asafoetida, ginger julians, 2 dry red chillies, Kasoori methi, and red chili powder, and turn off the flame.
- Now pour the tempering on the Dal and turn off the flame.
- Now your perfect Dal Palak is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
