Materials
- Chopped Capsicum – 2
- Chopped Onion – 2
- Curd – 1/2 cup
- Kashmiri Red Chili Powder – 2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
- Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
- Gram flour – 2 tbsp
- Kasoori Methi
- Mustard Oil – 1 tsp
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Cardamom – 2
- Clove – 2
- Black Peppercorns – 4 to 5
- Cumin Seed – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida – 2 pinch
- Chopped Green Chili – 2 to 3
- Chopped Ginger
- Chopped Garlic
- Chopped Tomato – 1
- Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
- Turmeric Powder
- Salt as per Taste
- Water – 1/2 cup
- Chopped Coriander
- Green Chili
Instructions
- To make the perfect Shimla Mirch Pyaz ki Sabzi, take two capsicums and two onions and cut them like the following image:
- Now take a bowl and add 1/2 cup of curd, 2 tsp of Kashmiri red chili powder, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of garam masala, 2 tbsp of gram flour, and Kasoori methi.
- Now add one teaspoon of mustard oil and mix everything well.
- Now add the chopped capsicum and onion to the prepared paste and mix well.
- Now place a kadhai on the flame, add two tablespoons of oil, and heat well.
- After the hot oil, add two green cardamoms, two cloves, 4–5 peppercorns, one teaspoon of cumin seeds, two pinches of asafoetida, and sauté a little.
- After a few seconds, add 2-3 chopped green chilies, chopped ginger, and chopped garlic, and roast well.
- After a minute, add one chopped tomato, a pinch of Kashmiri red chili powder, a pinch of turmeric powder, and salt as per taste, and mix everything well.
- After some time, add 1/4 cup of water and mix well.
- Now add the marinated capsicum and onion and cook well on low heat.
- After some time, turn the flame to medium and cook well.
- Now add 1/2 cup of water, mix well, and cook for 3–4 minutes with a closed lid.
- After 4 minutes, turn off the flame and garnish it with chopped coriander and split green chilies.
