Moong Dal Pakoda Recipe | How to make Moong Dal Pakoda at Home | Gujrati Dal Vada Recipe
Materials
- Green gram – 1.5 Cup
- Ginger – 2 inch
- Garlic – 7 pieces
- Coriander Seed – 1 tbsp
- Fennel seeds – 1 tbsp
- Black Pepper – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida -1/4 tsp
- Chopped Green Chili – 3 to 4 piece
- Chopped Onion – 1
- Chopped Coriander
- Salt as per Taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- To make the amazing Crispy Moong Dal Pakodi/Dal Vade, take 1. cup of Green Moong gram and soak it in water for 3-4 hours.
- After 3-4 hours, remove the excess water from the moong dal.
- Next step – take a grinding jar, add soaked Moong Dal, grind well on the pulse, and make a coarse paste.
- Next step – transfer one big spoon of coarse moong dal into a bowl and keep it aside.
- Next step – Into the grinding jar, add 2 inches of ginger, and seven garlic cloves, blend well again and make a coarse paste.
- Next step – transfer the Moong dal paste to a bowl and whisk well with the help of a spoon until it turns light.
- Next step – place a pan on flame, add 1 tbsp of coriander seeds, 1 tbsp of fennel seeds, 1 tsp of peppercorns, 1 tsp of cumin seeds, and roast everything well on low flame.
- After 30-40 seconds, turn off the flame, add 1/4 tsp of asafoetida, mix well and let it cool.
- Next step – add roasted Masala into a grinding jar, and make a coarse powder.
- Next step – check your batter, add coarse moong dal, and 1.5 tbsp of prepared Masala.
- Next step – add 3-4 chopped green chilli, one chopped onion, finely chopped coriander, salt as per taste, and mix everything well.
- Next step – place a pan on flame, add oil for frying, and heat well on medium flame.
- Next step – one by one, take a small portion of batter, prepare a round ball and drop them into the hot oil.
- Next step – fry the Moong Dal Pakoda well until it turns golden & crispy.
- After the Pakoda turns golden and crispy, transfer them to a plate and fry the next batch.
