Nariyal Chutney Recipe | How to make Nariyal Chutney | Coconut Chutney Recipe
Materials
- Chopped Fresh Coconut – 3/4 cup
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Peanut – 1 Cup
- Green Chili (Hari Mirch)- 4-5
- Curry Leaves (Curry Patte) – 2 tbsp
- Fresh Mint – 2 tbsp
- Ginger – 1 inch
- Roasted Gram Dal – 2-3 tbsp
- Tamarind – 1 tsp
- Coriander
- Salt as per Taste
- Water -1 cup
For Tempering
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard – 1 tbsp
- Asafoetida/Hing
- Black Gram Split
- Curry Leaves
- Dry Red Chilli -2
Instructions
- To make the amazing South Indian Style Coconut chutney, take 1 fresh(3/4 cup) of coconut.
- Next step – place a pan on flame, add 1 tbsp of oil, and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, add 1 cup of peanuts, and roast well for 1 minute.
- After 1 minute, add 4-5 roughly chopped green chilli, 2 tbsp of fresh curry leaves, and roast on low flame.
- Next step – add 2 tbsp of mint leaves, and 1 inch of ginger, and roast well.
- Next step – add 2-3 tbsp of roasted gram dal and roast a little.
- Next step – after roasting a little, add 1 tbsp of tamarind and roast well.
- After 1 minute, add fresh coconut and saute a little for 30 seconds.
- After 30 seconds, turn off the flame and let it cool.
- Next step – transfer the chutney mix to a grinding jar, and fresh coriander.
- Next step – add 1 tsp of salt, and 1 cup of water, grind well and make a fine paste.
- Now transfer the prepared chutney to a bowl.
- Next step – place a tempering pan on flame, add 1 tbsp of oil, and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, add 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/4 tsp of asafoetida, and 1 tsp of urad dal.
- Now turn off the flame add some curry leaves, dry red chillies, and mix well.
- Next step – pour the prepared tempering into the chutney and mix well.
- Now your perfect South Indian style Coconut Chutney is completely ready and you can enjoy it.
