Materials
- 6 pcs Chopped Tomatoes
- 5 pcs Boiled Potatoes
- 2 tbsp. Ghee
- 1 tbsp. Cumin Seeds
- 1 tbsp. Grated Ginger
- Chopped Green Chilies
- 1/2 tbsp. Poppy Seeds
- 8 Grated Cashew Nuts
- 1/4 tbsp. Turmeric Powder
- 2 tbsp. Red Chili Powder
- 1 tbsp. Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp. Cumin Powder
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tbsp. Black Salt
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1/2 tbsp. Garam Masala
- 1 cup Water
- 5 tbsp. Sugar
- 2 tbsp. Roasted Cumin Powder
- 1 tbsp. Tamarind Pulp
- 1 tbsp. Chaat Masala
- Finely Chopped Coriander
- 1/2 tbsp. Roasted Cumin Powder
- Lemon Juice
- Ghee
- Imly chutny
- Red Chilli Powder
- Chaat Masala
- Roasted Cumin powder
- Finely Chopped Onion
- Finely Chopped Coriander
- Chips/Namakpare/Sev
Instructions
- To make the perfect Banarasi Tamatar Chaat, first place a pan on flame, add 2 tbsp of ghee, and heat.
- After ghee melts, add 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tbsp of grated ginger, two finely chopped green chillies, 1/2 tsp of poppy seeds, eight grated cashews, and saute until golden on low flame.
- Now add 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of red chilli powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp of cumin powder, and mix everything well on low flame.
- Now add six finely chopped tomatoes, salt as per taste, 1 tsp of black salt, and mix everything well.
- After 1 minute, add 1/2 cup of water and mix well.
- Now add 1/2 tsp of garam masala, mix well and cook on a low medium flame for 4-5 minutes with a closed lid.
- Now, take five boiled potatoes and mash them with your hands.
- Now place a pan on flame, add 1 cup of water, 5 tbsp of sugar, 1 tsp of roasted cumin powder, and mix well.
- Now boil the sugar until the syrup turns sticky like honey; after it turns sticky, turn off the flame and keep it aside.
- After 4-5 minutes, check the tomatoes, add mashed potatoes into the pan, and mix well.
- Now add 1 tbsp of tamarind pulp and mix well.
- Now add 1 tsp of chaat masala, finely chopped coriander, 1/2 tsp of roasted cumin powder, and mix well.
- Now, close the lid and cook for 2 minutes again.
- After 2 minutes, remove the lid and turn off the flame.
- Now garnish the Chaat with chopped coriander and add 1 tsp of lemon juice into it.
- To searve your Banarasi tamatar chaat, take a Bowl/Dona and add Tamatar chaat into it.
- Now add desi ghee on top of the Chaat.
- Now add tamarind chutney and sprinkle red chilli powder, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder on the Tamatar Chaat.
- Now add prepared sugar syrup and garnish it with finely chopped coriander, onion, chips.
- Now your Perfect Banarasi Tamatar chaat is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
