Vermicelli noodles are commonly prepared for this dish by first toasting them in ghee or clarified butter until they are golden brown. After that, the noodles are cooked in milk that has been spiced with cinnamon, saffron, and cardamom. These spices are what give the dish its unique flavour and scent.
When the noodles simmer, they take on the sweetness of the milk and swell up. The meal is generally topped with chopped nuts like walnuts, pistachios, and cashews once the noodles are thoroughly cooked. The dish’s flavour is improved by the addition of the nuts, which give it a crunchy texture.

Materials
- Semai/Vermicelli – 180 grams
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- Sugar powder – 5 tbsp
- Orange food colour – 2 drops
- Rose essenc
- Milk – 2 cups
- Sugar – 5 tbsp
- Corn flour – 3 tbsp
- All-purpose flour – 1 tbsp
- Pistachio & Almonds
- Golden leaf
Instructions
- To make the amazing Nawabi Semai Dessert, take 180 grams of Semai/Vermicelli and crush it with your hands.
- Next step – place a pan on medium flame, add 2 tsp of ghee, and heat well.
- After the ghee melt, add crushed Semai and roast well for 3 minutes.
- After 1 minute, add 5 tbsp of sugar powder, mix well, and cook.
- After the sugar melts, add two drops of orange colour and mix well.
- Next step – turn off the flame, add 1 tsp of rose essence, and mix well.
- Next step – transfer the half Semai onto a greased plate, spread, and press on Semai with the help of a glass.
- Next step – take a pan, add 2 cups of milk(600 ML), 5 tbsp of sugar, and 3 tbsp of corn flour, and mix well.
- Next step – add 1 tbsp of all-purpose flour and mix everything well.
- Next step – place the pan on flame and cook well until the pudding turns thick.
- After some time, add 1 tbsp of butter and mix well.
- After the pudding turns thick, turn off the flame, add rose essence, and mix well.
- Next step – transfer the pudding to the greased plate(on the Semai layer) and make a second layer.
- Next step – add the remaining Semai to the pudding layer and make the third layer.
- Next step – keep the Semai dessert in the fridge for 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, take out the Semai dessert from the fridge and cut it into small pieces.
