Materials
- Split Chickpeas – 1 cup/200 Gram
- Spinach – 1 Bunch
- Bay Leaf – 2
- Cardamom – 1
- Cloves – 2
- Cinnamon Stick – 1
- Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
- Salt as per Taste
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tsp
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Cumin Seed – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida – 1 tsp
- Aniseed (Fennel Seeds) – 1 tsp
- Choppedn Onion – 2
- Chopped Green Chili – 2 to 3
- Grated Ginger – 1 inch
- Chopped Garlic – 7 to 8
- Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
- Kashmiri Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
- Chopped Tomato – 2
- Salt as per Taste
- Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Kasoori Methi – 1 tsp
- Chopped Spinach – 2 cup
- Chopped Coriander
- Chopped Ginger
- Chopped Green Chili
For Tadka
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- Cumin Seed – 1/2 tsp
- Garlic (Grated) – 1 tbsp
- Splited Green chilli
- Chopped Ginger
- Dried Red Chili – 2
- Kashmiri Red Chili Powder -1 tsp
Instructions
- To make the perfect Tadka Chana Dal Palak, take 1 cup of chana dal and wash well 2-3 times.
- Next step – soak the chana dal in water for 1 hour.
- Next step – take one bunch of spinach, wash & remove the stem and chop it.
- After 1 hour, place a cooker on flame, and add soaked chana dal and water (Add so much water that the Dal gets immersed in the water).
- Next step – add two bay leaves, one cinnamon stick, one big cardamom, two cloves, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, salt as per taste, and 1/4 tsp of asafoetida.
- Next step – add 1 tsp of ghee, close the lid and cook until two whistles on medium flame.
- After two whistles, turn off the flame and keep the cooked Chana Dal aside.
- Next step – place a Kadhai on flame, add 2 tbsp of ghee, and melt.
- After the ghee melts, add 1 tsp of cumin seeds, and let it crackle.
- After the cumin seeds crackle, add 1 tsp of asafoetida, 1 tsp of fennel seeds, and two chopped onions, and roast well on medium flame.
- After the onion turns pink, add 2-3 chopped green chilli, 1 inch of grated ginger, and 7-8 chopped garlic and roast well.
- After roasting, add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and 1 tsp of red chilli powder and mix well.
- Next step – add two chopped tomatoes, salt as per taste, 2 tbsp of water, and mix well.
- Next step – close the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
- After 2-3 minutes, remove the lid, add 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of cumin powder, and 1 tsp of Kasoori methi, and mix well.
- Next step – add chopped spinach, mix well and cook for 2 minutes with a closed lid.
- After 2 minutes, add one big spoonful of cooked chana Dal and mash well.
- Next step – add boiled chana dal, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Next step – place a tempering pan on flame, add 2 tsp of ghee, and melt.
- After the ghee melts, add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of grated garlic, two slits green chilli, ginger julienne, and two dry red chillies, and mix well.
- Next step – turn off the flame, add 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, pour the tempering on the cooked Dal and close the lid for 1 minute.
- After 1 minute, turn off the flame and garnish it with chopped coriander, ginger julienne, and slit green chilli.
- Now your perfect Chana Dal Palak is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.

16 – Next step – add chopped spinach, mix well and cook for 2 minutes with a closed lid.
17 – After 2 minutes, add one big spoonful of cooked chana Dal and mash well.
18 – Next step – add boiled chana dal, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
19 – Next step – place a tempering pan on flame, add 2 tsp of ghee, and melt.
20 – After the ghee melts, add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of grated garlic, two slits green chilli, ginger Julians, and two dry red chillies, and mix well.
21 – Next step – turn off the flame, add 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, pour the tempering on the cooked Dal and close the lid for 1 minute.
22 – After 1 minute, turn off the flame and garnish it with chopped coriander, ginger Julians, and slit green chilli.
