Shahi Matar Makhana Recipe | How to make Matar Makhana at Home | Matar Makhana Ki Sabji
Materials
- Green Peas – 1 Cup
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Lotus seeds – 1.5 Cup
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Ghee – 1 tsp
- Bay Leaf – 2
- Cinnamon Stick – 2 pieces
- Cloves – 4
- Black Peppercorns – 4
- Cardamom – 4
- Cumin Seed – 1/2 tsp
- Chopped Onion – 2
- Chopped Green Chili -2 to 3
- Ginger – 1 inch
- Chopped Garlic
- Chopped Tomato – 2
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Cashew nut – 1/4 cup
- Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Kashmiri Red Chili Powder – 2 tsp
- Kasoori Methi – 1 tbsp
- Water – 1/2 cup
- Milk Cream – 2 tbsp
- Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
- Chopped Coriander
Instructions
- To make the tastiest and perfect Shahi Makhana Matar, place a Kadhai on flame, 2 tsp of oil, and heat.
- Next step – add 1.5 cup of Makhana(foxnut) and roast well on low flame until golden & crispy.
- After 5-6 minutes, turn off the flame and transfer the roasted Makhana to a plate.
- Next step – place a Kadhai on flame, add 2 tbsp of oil & 1 tsp of ghee, and heat well.
- Next step – add two bay leaves, two cinnamon sticks, four cloves, four peppercorns, four cardamoms & 1 tsp of cumin seeds, and saute a little.6
- After some seconds, add two chopped onions and roast well on high flame until pink.
- After the onion turns little pink, add 2-3 chopped green chilli, 1 inch of grated ginger, and 4-5 chopped garlic cloves and roast well.
- After the onion turns pink, add two chopped tomatoes, salt as per taste, and 1/8 cup of cashew and mix well.
- Next step – close the lid and cook the gravy for 1-2 minutes.
- After 1-2 minutes, remove the lid, and transfer 65% of the gravy into a bowl.
- Next step – add 1 cup of green peas and 1/8 cup of cashew and mix well on low flame.
- Next step – take a grinding jar, add 65% gravy and make a fine paste.
- After cooking gravy for some time, add prepared gravy paste and mix well.
- Next step – add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of cumin powder, and 2 tsp of Kashmiri chilli powder and mix well.
- Next step – add 1 tbsp of Kasuri methi and mix well.
- After 1 minute, add 1/2 cup of water, mix well and cook for 2 minutes with a closed lid.
- After 2 minutes, remove the lid, add roasted Makhana, mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
- After 2 minutes, add 2 tbsp of whisked cream and 1/2 tsp of garam masala, and mix well.
- Next step – turn off the flame and garnish it with chopped coriander and ginger Julienne.
- Now your perfect Shahi Makhana Matar is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
