Shahi Dum Aloo Recipe | How to make Dum Aloo at Home | Baby Potato Gravy Recipe
Materials
- Baby Potato – 500 grams
- Green chillies – 3
- Tomatoes – 2-3
- Garlic cloves – 10-12
- Ginger – 1.5 inch
- Cashew – 8
- Oil – 4 tbsp
- Bay leaf – 1
- Big cardamom – 1
- Cloves – 2
- Peppercorn – 6
- Cinnamon stick – 1
- Dry red chillies – 2
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida – 2 pinch
- Chopped onion – 2
- Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Kasuri methi – 1 tsp
- Whisked curd – 4 tbsp
- Water – 2.5 cups
- Maggi Gravy Masala – 1 pack
- Chopped coriander
Instructions
- To make the perfect Shahi Dum Aloo, take 500 grams of boiled baby potatoes and peel them.
- Next step – prick the all potatoes with the help of a fork.
- Next step – take a grinding jar, add three green chillies, 2-3 tomatoes, 10-12 garlic cloves, 1.5 inches of ginger, & 8 cashews, and make a fine paste.
- Next step – place a kadhai on flame, add 4 tbsp of oil, and heat well on medium flame.
- After the oil is hot, add peeled potato and fry well until golden.
- After the potatoes turn golden, turn off the flame and transfer the potato to a plate.
- Next step – again add oil into Kadhai and heat well.
- After the oil turn hot, add one bay leaf, one big cardamom, two cloves, six peppercorns, one cinnamon stick, two dry red chilli, and roast a little.
- Next step – add 1 tsp of cumin seeds and two pinches of asafoetida and roast.
- Next step – add two chopped onions and roast well on medium to high flame.
- After the onion turns golden brown, add 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, and mix well.
- After 1 minute, add prepared tomato paste, 1 tsp of salt, 2 tsp of water, and cook well with a closed lid.
- After 2 minutes, add 1 tsp of kasuri methi, 4 tbsp of whisked curd and mix well.
- Next step – add fried potato and cook well for 2 minutes.
- Next step – add 2.5 cups of water, mix well, and cook for 5 minutes with a closed lid.
- After 5 minutes, remove the lid, add Maggi Gravy Masala, and mix well.
- Next step – close the lid, turn the flame to low, and cook well for 4-5 minutes.
- After 4-5 minutes, remove the lid and garnish it with chopped coriander.
- Now your perfect Dum Aloo is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
