Materials
- Rice – 3/4 cup
- Toor Dal – 1/2 cup
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- Cumin – 1/2
- Asafoetida – 1/2 tsp
- Curry Leaves
- Black Pepper – 8 pcs
- Red Chilli – 2 pcs
- Onion Garlic – 7 cloves
- Tomato – 2 pcs
- Salt as per Taste
- Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
- Rasam Powder – 2 tbsp
- Tamarind Water – 1.5 tbsp
- Chopped Coriander Leaves
- Ghee
Instructions
- To make the perfect Rasam rice, take a bowl, add 3/4 cup of rice, 1/2 cup of toor dal, and wash well with water.
- Now soak the dal and rice for 15 minutes.
- Now place a cooker on flame, add 1 teaspoon of oil and 1 teaspoon of ghee, and heat well.
- After the ghee melts, add 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp of asafoetida, curry leaves, 8 peppercorns, 2 red chillies, and roast well.
- Now add 6 small chopped onions and roast until pink.
- Now add 6-7 garlic cloves, 2-3 split green chillies, and roast well.
- After the onion turns pink, add 2 chopped tomatoes, salt as per taste, and roast well.
- 8: Now add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of red chili powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, and 2 tbsp of rasam powder and mix well.
- After some time, add the soaked rice and dal (remove the excess water before adding) and roast for 1 minute.
- After a minute, add 4 cups of water and mix well.
- Now close the lid and cook until 3 whistles.
- After 3 whistles, turn off the flame and let the pressure release.
- Now remove the lid, add tamarind water, chopped coriander, and mix well.
- Now your perfect Rasam rice is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
