Perfect Idli Batter Recipe | How to make Perfect Idli Batter at Home | Rava Idli Recipe
Materials
- 3 cup Raw Rice
- 1 cup Urad dal
- 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- 1/4 cup Flattened rice
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- To make Perfect Idli batter, first take a bowl and add 3 cups of rice.
- Now wash the rice till the water runs clear.
- Now, soak the rice in water for 5 hours.
- Now take 1 cup of Whole urad dal(If you don’t have whole urad dal, you can use split whole Dal).
- Now, into urad dal, add 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds.
- Now wash the dal and soak it in water for 4 hours.
- Now, take a bowl and add 1/4 cup of Poha soak it into the water for 3-4 hours.
- After 4 hours, check the Urad dal and strain the dal and remove the water.
- Now, take a grinding jar and add urad dal to it.
- Now grind the urad dal well, make a thick batter, transfer it into a bowl, and keep it aside.
- After 5 hours, retake the grinding jar and add soaked rice( Remove the excess water) and soaked Poha( Remove the excess water) to it.
- Now, little by little, add cold water( this will make our batter whiter) into a jar and grind rice well.
- Now transfer the rice batter into a bowl.
- Now add urad dal batter into rice batter and mix well and whisk for 4 – 5 minutes.
- Now, close the lid, keep the batter for fermentation for 8-10 hours, and keep the tiny space in the bowl, so the batter does not come out from the bowl.
- After 8-10 Hours, check the batter.
- Now gently mix the batter to retain the air pockets and take out the batter you need now and add salt to it, and you can store the batter in the fridge for four days.
- If you don’t want to use the batter now, do not fermentate it and store it in a tight air box in the freezer for one month.
- Now, we will make idli with this batter and take the batter into a bowl.
- Now add salt as per taste and mix gently.
- Now, take the idli mould and grease them with oil.
- Now, pour the idli batter into the idli mould.
- Now, place an idli steamer on flame, add one glass of water to it, and heat the water on medium flame( Do not put idli mould immediately).
- Now, place the idli stand into the steamer, close the lid, and cook it for 10-12 minutes on medium flame.
- After 10-12 minutes, turn off the flame and do not open; remove lid now and do not Over steam.
- After some time, remove the lid and check the idli and let it cool.
- Now de moulds the idli and takes it out to a plate.
- Now your spongy idli is ready, and you can enjoy it.
