Tips for Making the Perfect Onion Bread Pakora
Choose the proper bread: To make pakoras, use bread that has somewhat staled. Fresh bread can turn mushy during frying because it tends to absorb more oil. For this dish, either white bread or brown bread will work.
To make the filling, finely cut the onions, green chilies, and coriander leaves. Add salt, cumin, turmeric, and red chilli powder to the mixture. For a cheesy touch, you can also incorporate grated cheese into the filling.
creating the batter Chickpea flour (besan), rice flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and water should all be combined in a mixing bowl. To get a smooth, thick batter, thoroughly combine. The batter shouldn’t be either too thick or too runny.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan over a medium-high temperature to fry the pakoras. When the oil is hot, carefully lower the pieces of bread into it and fry them until golden and crispy. Using a slotted spoon, remove them from the oil and set them on a dish covered with paper towels to drain any extra oil.
Serve hot: Crispy, hot onion bread pakoras have the finest flavour. Serve with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
