Masala Shimla Mirch Ki Sabji Recipe | How to make Shimla Mirch Ki Sabji | Capsicum Sabzi Recipe
Materials
- Capsicum – 4
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Peanuts – 1/4 cup
- Garlic – 10-12
- Coconut
- Ginger – 1.5 inch
- Dry red chillies – 2-3
- Cardamoms – 2
- Black peppercorns – 4-5
- Cinnamon stick
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Onion – 1
- Curd – 1/2 cup
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1.5 tsp
- Kasoori methi – 1 tbsp
- Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
- Salt as per taste
- Coriander leaves
Instructions
- Take 4 capsicums, wash them thoroughly, and cut them into small slices.
- Place a kadhai on medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil, and let it heat well.
- Once the oil is hot, add 1/4 cup of peanuts and roast them until they turn slightly golden.
- After 1-2 minutes, add 10-12 garlic cloves, chopped coconut, chopped ginger, and 2-3 dry red chilies. Roast everything well until aromatic.
- Turn off the flame and let the mixture cool completely.
- Once cooled, transfer the roasted ingredients to a grinding jar and grind them into a coarse paste.
- In the same kadhai, add the chopped capsicum and lightly fry them for a couple of minutes.
- Transfer the fried capsicum to a plate and set it aside.
- Add another 1 tablespoon of oil into the kadhai and heat it well.
- Once the oil is hot, add 2 cardamoms, 4-5 peppercorns, 1 cinnamon stick, and 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds. Sauté until aromatic.
- Add 2 finely chopped onions and roast them on high flame until they turn golden brown.
- Once the onions are golden, add the prepared masala paste along with a little water and mix well.
- In a bowl, take 1/2 cup of curd and mix it with 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 3/2 teaspoons of coriander powder, 1 teaspoon of kasoori methi, 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder, and a little water. Stir well to form a smooth mixture.
- Check the gravy in the kadhai, then add the curd mixture and cook everything for 4-5 minutes while stirring continuously.
- After 4-5 minutes, add a little more water and salt as per taste. Mix well.
- Add the fried capsicum back into the kadhai, mix everything well, cover with a lid, and let it cook for another 2 minutes on low flame.
- After 2 minutes, turn off the flame and garnish the sabji with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- Your delicious Masala Shimla Mirch Ki Sabji is ready! Serve hot with roti, paratha, or steamed rice. 🍽️✨
