Ingredients of Imli Ki Mithi Chutney 

  • Tamarind/Imli – 100 grams
  • Hot Water – 2 cups
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
  • Jaggery – 100 gms
  • Salt -1 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Saut/Dry Ginger Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Black Salt – 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Roasted Cumin Powder -1 tsp
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp

Materials

  • 100 grams Tamarind/Imli
  • 2 cup Hot Water
  • 1 tbsp Oil 
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida 
  • 100 grams Jaggery 
  • 1 tsp Salt 
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder 
  • 1/2 tsp Saut/Dry Ginger Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Black Salt 
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  • 4 tbsp Sugar 

Instructions

  • To make Market Style Imli( Tamarind) Ki chutney, first take 100 Grams of seedless Imli(Tamarind).
  • Now, take a bowl and add tamarind and 2 cups of hot water to it.
  • Now close the lid and soak it into the water for 1/2 hour.
  • After 1/2 Hour, take a grinding jar and add soaked tamarind into it.
  • Now grind well and make a fine paste, and if you don’t have a grinder, you can make a fine paste with your hands.
  • Now, take a bowl and place a filter on it.
  • Now add tamarind paste into stranger and strain the entire paste to remove the skin and fibre ( Add 2 tbsp of water if required and strain the mix).
  • Now, place a pan on flame and add 1 tbsp of oil to it and heat well.
  • After the oil is hot, add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds to it.
  • Now add 1/2 tsp of asafoetida and mix well.
  • Now add tamarind paste and mix well and boil on low medium.
  • After tamarind paste starts boiling, add 100 grams of crushed jaggery and mix well and melt.
  • While jaggery is melting, add salt as per taste, 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp of dry ginger powder, and mix well.
  • Now add 1/2 tsp black salt,1/4 tsp of pepper powder and mix well.
  • Now add 1 tsp of roasted cumin powder and mix well.
  • Now add 4 tbsp of sugar to balance the taste and mix well bol unit thick for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • To check that the tamarins chutney is ready, dip the spoon if it has a coating on it; consistency is perfect.
  • Now turn off the flame and let it cool.
  • Now your Imli chutney is completely ready, and you can store it in the fridge for two months.
