- Chopped Spinach – 1 bowl
- Chopped Fenugreek – 1/2 bowl
- Carrot – 1
- Chopped Coriander
- Gram flour – 1 cup
- Semolina – 4 tbsp
- Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
- Salt as per Taste
- Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
- Carom Seed – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
- Red Chili Flakes
Instructions
- Take a bowl and add 1 cup of gram flour (besan) and 4 tbsp of semolina (sooji).
- Add 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain), 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 2 pinches of asafoetida (hing), and a pinch of red chilli flakes.
- Add 1 tbsp ginger, garlic, and green chilli paste to the bowl. Gradually add water in batches while mixing to form a smooth paste.
- Add chopped spinach leaves, chopped fenugreek leaves (methi), and grated carrot to the mixture. Mix everything well to prepare a thin batter.
- Heat a tawa (griddle) on medium flame and grease it lightly with oil.
- Once the tawa is hot, pour a ladleful of batter onto it and spread it evenly to form a thin layer.
- Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook until the cheela turns golden on one side.
- Flip the cheela carefully and cook the other side until golden as well.
