Materials
- Boiled Potato – 5
- Green Chilli – 4 to 5
- Garlic Cloves- 7 to 8
- Ginger – 1 inch
- Curry Leaves
- Cumin – 1 tsp
- Green Coriander Leaves
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
- Chopped Coriander
- Lemon Juice
- Gram Flour – 2 Cup
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Asafoetida – 1 to 2 pinch
- Rice flour – 2 to 3 tbsp
- Baking Soda – 1/4 tsp
- Hot oil – 1 tbsp
Instructions
- To make the perfect batata vada, take five boiled and peeled potatoes and crush and mash them well.
- Now take a crusher, add 4-5 green chillies, 7-8 garlic cloves, 1 inch of ginger, curry leaves, and 1 tsp of cumin seeds, and crush well.
- Now add a handful of coriander and 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and crush well.
- Now place a pan on the flame, add one tablespoon of oil, and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, add one teaspoon of mustard seeds and one teaspoon of asafoetida and mix well.
- Now add the prepared mix and cook well.
- Now add the mashed potatoes, mix well, and cook.
- Now add chopped coriander, salt as per taste, and lemon juice, and mix well.
- Now turn off the flame, transfer the mix into a bowl, and let it cool.
- Now take a bowl, add 2 cups of gram flour, salt as per taste, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and one pinch of asafoetida, and mix well.
- Now add 2–3 tablespoons of rice flour and mix well.
- Now add water as required and prepare a medium-thick batter.
- Now, one by one, prepare small-sized balls with the prepared stuffing.
- Now check the batter, add 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon of hot oil, and mix well.
- Now dip batata balls into the prepared batter, add them to the hot oil, and fry well.
- After the batata Vada turns golden and crispy, transfer them to a plate and fry the next batch.
- Now your perfect Batata Vada is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
