Aloo Suji Idli Recipe | Stuffed Rava Idli Recipe | How to make Aloo Suji Idli at Home
Materials
- Sooji/rava – 1 cup
- Curd -1/2 cup
- Eno fruit salt – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Oil – 1 tsp
Instructions
- To make the perfect Aloo Suji Idli, take a bowl, add 1 cup of sooji, 3/4 cup of curd, 1 teaspoon of salt, and water as required; mix well and prepare a batter.
- Now cover the batter and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Now place a pan on flame, add 1 tablespoon of oil, and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, add 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds and 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, and roast a little.
- After few seconds, add 1/2 inch of grated ginger, 5-6 chopped garlic, 3 chopped green chillies, and curr leaves and roast well.
- Now add one chopped onion and roast a little.
- After some time, add salt as per taste, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, and 1 teaspoon red chili powder, and mix well.
- Now add 2-3 grated potatoes and roast a little.
- Now add lemon juice and chopped coriander, mix well, and turn off the flame.
- Now, one by one, prepare small balls with the stuffing.
- Now check the batter, add 1 teaspoon of oil, and mix well.
- Now add 1 teaspoon fruit salt and a little water and mix well.
- Now take an idli mold, grease it with oil, and fill a little batter into the mold.
- Now place the prepared stuffing balls into the mold and cover it with the batter.
- Now place the mold into the kadhai with boiling water and steam it for 12–14 minutes on high flame.
- After 12–14 minutes, check the idli and turn off the flame.
- Now your perfect Aloo Suji Idli is completely ready.
Special Chutney Recipe
- To make the amazing chutney, place a pan on flame, add 1 teaspoon of oil, and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of urad dal, 1 tsp of chana dal, 5-6 garlic cloves, 5-6 Kashmiri red chillies, and one piece of tamarind and roast a little.
- Now add 1 chopped cucumber, salt as per taste, Kashmiri red chili powder, desiccated coconut, and roast a little.
- After some time, add coriander leaves and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- After 2-3 minutes, turn off the flame and let the mix cool down.
- After the mix cools down, add the mix and a little water into a grinding jar and make a fine paste.
- Now place a tempering pan on flame, add 1 tablespoon of oil, and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, add 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp of urad dal, curry leaves, and 2 dry red chilies and mix well.
- Now pour the prepared tempering on the chutney.
- Now your perfect chutney is also ready, and you can enjoy it with the stuffed Idli.
