Restaurant Style Dal Makhani Recipe | How to make Dal Makhani at Home
Materials
- Black gram/Urad dal – 1 cup
- Kidney Beans – 1/4 cup
- Hot Water – 3 cup
- Salt as per Taste
- Garlic (Lahsun) – 6-7
- Kashmiri Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Ghee – 3 tbsp
- Ginger & Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
- Tomato Puree – 1 cup
- Red Chili Powder – 1 tbsp
- Hot Water – 1/2 Cup
- Butter – 2 tbsp
- Salt as per Taste
- Suger – 1 tsp
- Kasoori Methi
- Fresh Cream – 4 tbsp
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Kashmiri Red chilly powder
- Kasoori Methi
Instructions
- For the correct measurement of Restaurant Style Dal Makhani, take 1 cup of Black Gram/Urad dal and 1/4 cup of white kidney beans/Rajma.
- Now take a bowl, add black gram to it and rub & wash with water 3-4 times(wash the lentil before soaking it).
- Now drain the water and rewash it.
- Now, soak black gram and kidney beans into the water for 3-4 hours.
- After 3-4 hours, drain the water and wash it with hot water one more time and strain the water.
- Now, place a pressure cooker on flame, add lentils, add hot water(add enough water to get completely submerged in water).
- Now add salt as per taste, 6-7 curry leaves, 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 tbsp of oil.
- Now, close the lid and cook until 4-5 whistles.
- After 4-5 whistles, remove the lid and check your lentils when the pressure is released.
- Now place a kadhai on flame, add 3 tbsp of ghee, and heat well.
- After the hot ghee, add 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste and roast well.
- Now add puree of 4 tomatoes, 1 tbsp of Degi chilli powder, mix well and roast well.
- After the mix starts releasing the ghee, add cooked black gram and mix well.
- Now stir & mash the white kidney beans completely with the help of a heavy spoon.
- Now add 1/2 cup of water, mix and mash well.
- Now add 2 tbsp of butter and mix well on low flame.
- Now add salt as per taste, 1 tsp of sugar, and mix well.
- Now add 1 tsp Kasuri methi, 4 tbsp of fresh cream, turn off the flame, and mix well.
- Now, place a tempering pan on flame, add 2 tbsp of ghee, and heat well.
- After the ghee is hot, add Kashmiri powder, Kasuri methi, and turn off the flame.
- Now pour the prepared tempering on the Dal Makhani.
- Now, garnish your Dal Makhani with slits green chilli, fresh cream, and coriander.
- Now your Perfect Restaurant Style Dal Makhani is ready, and you can enjoy it.
