Materials
For Batter
- Sooji/Semolina – 1 cup
- Curd – 1/2 cup
- Water as required
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Eno Fruit Salt
- Oil as Per required for cooking
For Mashala Stuffing
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Chana Dal – 1 tsp
- Urad Dal – 1 tsp
- Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida -2 pinch
- Red chilli -1
- Curry leaves
- Finely chopped onion – 4 tbsp
- Finely chopped green chilli – 1
- Finely chopped ginger – 1 inch
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Boiled and mashed Potatoes – 4
- Salt as per taste
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Water – 2 tbsp
- Finely chopped coriander
Instructions
- To make Potato Sandwich, first take a bowl and add 1 cup of semolina, 1/2 cup of curd and mix well.
- Now, little by little, add water and make a thick batter.
- Now add 1 tsp of salt and mix well.
- Now cover the batter and let it set for 5 minutes.
- Now, place a pan on flame and add 2 tbsp of oil and heat well.
- After the oil is hot, add 1 tsp of chana dal, 1 tsp of urad dal, 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of mustard seeds, and two pinches asafoetida, one red chilli, and saute well.
- After some time, add curry leaves, 4 tbsp of chopped onion roast well until it turns translucent.
- Now add 1 inch of grated ginger, one finely chopped green chilli, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, and mix well.
- Now add four boiled, mashed potatoes, salt as per taste, 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder, mix well and cook for 1 minute.
- After one minute, add 2 tbsp of water, mix well, close the lid, and cook for 1 minute.
- After 1 minute, turn off the flame, add finely chopped coriander, and transfer it to a bowl.
- Now check the batter and add little water to adjust the consistency and mix well.
- Now add one Eno fruit salt and some drops of water and gently mix.
- Now, place a Tawa on flame and grease it with oil.
- Now, add suji batter into the pan and spread well.
- Now, place an aloo masala patties on the batter and cover it with batter.
- Now add some drops of oil on top of it, close the lid, and cook for some time.
- After some time, remove the lid, turn it to another side, and cook well until golden.
- Now, take out the Sandwich on a plate and roast the next Sandwich.
- If you want to make your Sandwich with a sandwich toaster, then grease the sandwich mould with oil.
- Now add suji batter into the mould and spread well.
- Now place aloo masala on it and cover it with batter.
- Now add some drops of oil on top of it, close the lid, and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- After 3-4 minutes, check the sandwich, take them out on a plate, and roast the next Sandwich.
- Now both types of Aloo Sandwich are ready, and you can enjoy them.
