Materials
- Bengal gram – 1 cup
- Green gram/Moong Dal – 1/4 cup
- Water – 3.5 cups
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Clarified Butter – 1 tsp
- Clarified Butter – 2 tbsp
- Cumin Seed – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida/Hing – 2 pinch
- Chopped Onion – 2
- Chopped Green Chilli – 2 to 3
- Grated Ginger – 1 tbsp
- Chopped Garlic – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Chopped Tomato – 4
- Salt as per Taste
- Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
- Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Hot Water – 1 cup
- Kasoori Methi – 1 tsp
- Chopped Coriander
- Green Chili Butter – 1 tbsp
- Clarified Butter/Ghee
- Cumin Seed – 1 pinch
- Chopped Garlic – 1 tsp
- Dried Red Chili – 2
- Clarified Butter – 1 tbsp
- Cumin Seed – 1 tbsp
- Split Green chilli – 2
- Cooked Rice Salt
- Roasted Onion – 2
- Chopped Coriander
Instructions
- To make the amazing Dal Tadka, take 1 cup of Bengal gram and 1/4 cup of moong dal, wash well, and soak it for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, place a cooker on flame, add soaked Dal(remove the excess water before adding), 3.5 cups of water, two bay leaves, one big cardamom, and two cloves.
- Next step – add 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of ghee, and close the lid.
- Next step – cook on high flame until 1-2 whistle.
- After 2 minutes, turn off the flame, remove the lid(after the pressure is released), and check the Dal.
- Next step – place a pan on flame, add 2 tbsp of ghee, and heat well.
- After the ghee melts, add 1 tsp of cumin seeds and two pinch of asafoetida, and let it crackle.
- Next step – add two chopped onions and roast well on high flame.
- After the onion turns pink, add 2-3 chopped green chilli, 1 tsp of grated ginger, 1 tbsp of chopped garlic, and roast well on low flame.
- After 1-1.5 minutes, add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder and mix well.
- Next step – add two chopped tomatoes, and roast well cook on low flame with a closed lid.
- After 2 minutes, remove the lid, add 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of cumin powder, 2-3 tbsp of water, and mix well.
- After the gravy releases the oil, take out the 2 tbsp of gravy masala into a bowl and keep it aside.
- Next step – add cooked Dal, hot water as required, and mix well.
- After cooking for 3-4 minutes, turn off the flame, add 1 tsp of Kasoori methi, chopped coriander, spileted green chilli, and mix well.
- Next step – place a tempering pan on flame, add 1 tbsp of butter & little ghee, and melt.
- Next step – add a pinch of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of chopped garlic, two dry red chillies, and saved gravy masala and mix well.
- Next step – turn the flame to high, add red chilli powder, and mix well.
- Next step – add ginger julians, chopped coriander, turn off the flame, pour the Tadka on the Dal and close the lid for 1 minute.
- Now your perfect Dal Tadka is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
Brown Onion Jeera Rice
- Place a pan on flame, add 1 tsp of ghee, and melt.
- Next step – add 1 tbsp of cumin seeds, and let it crackle.
- Next step – add two slits green chilli, cooked rice, salt per taste, 4-5 tbsp of brown onion, and chopped coriander and mix well.
- Now your perfect Brown onion Jeera rice is completely ready, and you can enjoy it with your favorite Dal Tadka.

Dal Tadka and Jeera Rice Recipe – Step By Step

16 – Next step – place a tempering pan on flame, add 1 tbsp of butter & little ghee, and melt.
17 – Next step – add a pinch of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of chopped garlic, two dry red chillies, and saved gravy masala and mix well.
18 – Next step – turn the flame to high, add red chilli powder, and mix well.
19 – Next step – add ginger julians, chopped coriander, turn off the flame, pour the Tadka on the Dal and close the lid for 1 minute.
20 – Now your perfect Dal Tadka is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
Brown Onion Jeera Rice
