To make a unique style of Moong Dal Badi Ki Sabji, take 1/2 cup of moong dal, wash well, and soak it for 3 hours.
After 3 minutes, remove the excess water, and add the soaked dal into a grinding jar. Next step – 3 green chillies, 1 inch of ginger, 3-4 tbsp of water and make a thick paste.
Next step – transfer the moong dal paste into a bowl and leave the 1/4 cup of dal paste in the grinding jar. Next step – into moong dal bowl, add 1 tsp of red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, two pinches of asafoetida, salt per taste, 1 tbsp of gram flour, and mix everything well.
Next step – into the grinding jar, add 2-3 green chillies, 1 inch of ginger, 6-7 garlic cloves, two chopped onions, coriander stem, two cardamom, one cinnamon stick, 5-6 peppercorns, two cloves. Next step – add little water and prepare a thick paste.
Next step – place a Kadhai on flame, add 2 tbsp of oil, and heat well. After the oil is hot, add 1 tsp of cumin seeds, & after some seconds add prepared dal paste and mix well.
Next step – add two dry red chillies, 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, and 1 tsp of coriander powder and mix well. After 1 minute, add 2 tbsp of curd and mix well on low flame.
Next step – add 1/2 cup of water and mix well. Next step – place a greased strainer on the Kadhai, prepare small Badi, and drop them on the strainer like the following image.
Next step – close the lid and cook for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, take out the strainer on a platform and de-mold all Badi.
Next step – add prepared Badi & 1.5 cups of hot water into the kadhai, and mix well. Next step – add salt per taste, 1/2 tsp of garam masala, 1 tsp of Kasoori methi, and cook for 2-3 minutes with a closed lid.
After 2-3 minutes, turn off the flame and garnish it with chopped coriander. Now your perfect Moong Dal Badi Ki Sabji is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
