Mawa Besan Barfi Recipe

– Gram flour – 2 cup – Clarified Butter – 1 cup – Sugar – 1.5 cup – Water – 3/4 cup – Cardamom Powder – 1/2 tsp – Saffron Food Color – Mawa – 1 cup – Pistachio – Melon seed

Step 1

To make the perfect Mawa Besan Barfi, place a heavy base pan on flame, add 2 cups of gram flour, and dry roast for 2 minutes.

After 2 minutes, add 1/2 cup of ghee, mix well, and cook. Next step: add more ghee (as required), mix well, and cook on low flame.

Next step: place a pan on flame, add 1.5 cups of sugar and 3/4 cup of water, mix well, and cook on high flame.

After the sugar melts, add 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder and saffron food colour and mix well. After the sugar consistency becomes one string consistency, turn off the flame and keep it aside.

Next step: check the cooking besan, add 1 cup of grated Mawa (150 grammes), mix well, and cook on low heat. After the barfi mix leaves the pan, turn off the flame for a minute and stir constantly.

After a minute, little by little, add the prepared sugar syrup, mix well, and cook on low heat. After the barfi mixture turns thick and leaves the pan, turn off the flame and transfer the barfi mixture to a greased plate.

Next step: garnish the barfi with pistachios and melon seeds. Next step: let it set for some time.
